Ok -- just don't ninja me, since you already did that and I still owe you .... just haven't gotten my hands on anything good enough to reciprocate with yet :-)

I like this! I'm going to start one next Monday when I get back from traveling.

My 1st requirement is that I need to have NOT sent to, received from, or traded with the person who LICCS ME

 

Got it, so perhaps the conversation would go:

A: "I have xyz beer to offer" (not necessarily specific, I get that)
B: "I'd like xyz, I'll send you something cool"
A: "ok"
B: "holy shit what did you do to my porch?"
A: "holy shit what did you do my porch?"

Either way, I like it (and it sounds very familiar to EVERY trade in SWTFYW )

 

The distinct difference here is that:

1. You aren't being specific about which beer you are trading (you are teasing a couple of beers that you will include).
2. You are opening up the box to whomever wants it, no haggling, you get whomever, and whatever that person wants.

A trade is:
1. Usually for some specific beers.
2. Totally known who and mostly what you are trading for.
3. You chose your partners, and while there could be some extra surprises, there is a base trade going on.

I think of it more as the trust exercise where I tell a person I am falling backwards and that I trust them to catch me before I fall backwards.

 

Brilliant idea, and after trust has been gained then maybe it does turn into super easy trade partnerships. @valrxman hooked me up with a quick and easy trade in here for a Chocolate Rain when I brought it to the group. This new concept is like a 'grab bag' with other 'Locals Buddies'

Plus nothing ever goes wrong during those trust exercises

 

it's FT sans the ISO.... our own private trade forum without all the BS of the other one... I love it!

Did you mention the induction before? I just guessed this was a first child and know that the due date is at best an educated guess, and that generally first time cooks take a little longer to bake the first time around.

 

nope... this is my second kid... first one tried to lift Kevin's 800# BIF box to me during the first round... I did NOT mention induction as that would hardly have been as fun for me... I actually didn't set a deadline for guesses either but that deadline is 1 minute ago.

Our first daughter was actually born the day BEFORE her DD.

 

Crap, I remember that now. I would have guessed much closer.

 

Yeah I love this LICC ME thing, both the low stress of there not being an 'ISO' component, much more laid back and awesome; and I also really like that it has a true BIF element being that it's set up to be very ambiguous what is being sent AND received, I will definitely play in this sandbox.

I know it was just the example, but I'm wondering if most of them will be as large as 9 or 12 bottles ... I think I'm going to put one out there that's considerably smaller, like "I've got 2 local growlers, who wants em?" ... not officially posting this yet, I need to get my Stouts and a LIF box out first (and probably some payback to marginally unsuspecting BAs)... but some day soon, I am looking forward to doing this.

 

Yeah, have fun with it, it can be 1 bottle or 100 bottles.

Hell it could be I've got 6 bottles and a girl friend who is looking for a date for a fun vacation week-end and is flexible where she flies to.

Recommendation: If the above scenario happens and the poster puts a photo of King Henry...STAY CLEAR

 

Anyone want some Focal Banger? Got too much for myself to drink fresh at the truck sale Saturday and figured I'd give you guys first crack at it.
