Hoping to see @alwaysplayin in here, he's resurfaced in the SWTFYW thread and is looking to get back into BIFs; the box he put together for the original SWTFYW BIF (despite that one having no 'local' theme) was pretty much a who's who of his own state's beer, that I think anyone would be thrilled to get:

Awesome man, thanks! It's a pretty long shot in my experience, but I'll be happy to pay you back in beer or even lowly currency per your preference.

That said, don't make me your target based solely on that... Not that you don't put together awesome boxes, but PA and NY have a ton of overlapping distro and I don't want to make your life too difficult (not that a box full of Captain Lawrence would be that hard to figure out...)

 

I will say, while I enjoy shirts, I'm slightly picky on them. For one, they have to be made with the soft, American Apparel style cotton. If it's that heavy weight stuff, then it's crap.

 

I like the heavy weight ones, anything non-stretchy, but it seems that glasses are a safer bet.

 

I, for one, prefer brewery-themed thongs with no less than 5% spandex.

I should be careful what I wish for.

 

You tagged him, so hopefully he joins. So far we are underrepresented from California this round.

 

I prefer glassware although my wife is almost to the point of making me get rid of some. That being said a soft American Apparel T shirt is my preference as well. Also been ISO brewery themed pasties for my weekend gig but that is enough about that.

Say anyone in here have a 4 pack of Heady to trade off? I have a friend in Columbus who has never had it and I wanted to bring some up for the OSU/UC tailgate figured I would start here. @kgncfl you wont be attending that game will you on the 27th?

I wasn't planning on making you my target (I haven't even thought about that, and once I block out all the prior sender/target pairs I might not even have many choices). It's just that I know a lot of these places have the shirts and I can check them out.

Now that my retinas are scarred, I have a question. What's the usual approach to duplicates? Is is normal/expected to send a couple of bottles/cans of 12 or 16 oz beers or do you just send one to maximize variety? Assume bombers and 750ml would be singles.

 

Totally your call. Nothing wrong with duplicates of good delicious local beer.

How many times are you like "shit I wish I had another one of those to share?" I know it happens to me a lot.

 

I am not planning on attending the game, however if you are doing some kind of bottle share in the parking lot I could find myself available.

 

Agreed, if you're sending something that is pretty damn awesome, a duplicate would not be frowned upon. Exactly to @kgnclf, in the first round @NRo sent me a Rush Hour breakfast stout and I really wish I had another one of those! So I think it just depends.

Btw, @NRo, you should send that to your next target this round, they'll thank you and me later.

 

Makes sense. If I get anything hoppy, I pretty much need to share it with my wife who is an IPA fan. If a bomber...easy, if a 12...well, I'll usually wish I had two.

 

Yeah I would say send two of the awesome ones (if it passes the "man, i gotta share this one!" test), the ones that are just good local standards (good beer but fails said test) then one for variety's sake is probably better.

 

Glasses are preferred for me fellas. I've actually never gotten a glass in a BIF. I've always gotten a shirt.... Or a hat. In every single one I've done. No clue why...

 

I prefer the shirt. I have enough glassware according to my wife.

 

I hope that's not important, since I have enough beer according to mine...
