@devilfluff I have a ridiculous memory for numbers and stuff, and when I passed exit 2 on the NJ Turnpike yesterday I absentmindedly said to my wife, "I think this is Devilfluff's exit"... because I recognized the town name.

I sort of got a "what the hell are you talking about" look, but she didn't even ask.

And you didn't stop over in PA for a beer because......

You were absolutely right. I am less than 3 miles from the exit.

It was a sort of hectic trip with going a bunch of different places and bad traffic in both directions (visiting my son who just moved to Virginia). I told him I need to go visit him myself, but that I would be stopping to meet a bunch of random people for beers and/or stopping at random bottle shops en route. Not sure when that will happen though.

The best way to put things in perspective is that I drank only two beers in 3 days. :-( #firstworldproblemz

Man, I hear ya on small number of beers in 3 days... I've had 1 all weekend (though it was a 750, and was gonna drink a bomber yesterday but got talked into drinking the supplied non-beer at my friends place). Fridays and Saturdays are the only days I can really drink anything more than a single 12oz too, so the cellar will continue to sit at its current state

Definitely feel for you guys... The way my/my wife's schedules work out, I have very little chance to get 'out' for beers (basically only the occasional major event and happy hour a couple times a month) but I am given a lot of latitude to drink at home, including during the week.

I've been trying to reduce the cellar and not just buy a sixpack of IPA whenever I'm out of that style... consequently I've had Black Crack/Buried Hatchet, Marshall Zhukov, Ballast Point Sea Monster, and Lost Abbey Track 8 all since Wednesday. This is a trend I expect to continue, so watch my Untappd feed with jealousy

INCOMING PrON -- @UcDru LICC'd me, and it felt so good I don't even want to wash the saliva off...

    left to right..

Jackie O's Dark Apparition Russian Imperial Stout - sounds awesome
Three Floyds Moloko -- huge WANT
Three Floyds Dreadnaught -- huge WANT
Rivertown Ojos Negros -- never heard of it, but it's a highly rated Wild Ale, I'm sure it will be great
Growler of Rhinegeist Sabertooth Tiger -- delicious DIPA -- I'm about 3/4 of the way through this one
Prairie Bible Belt - I assume no comment is required

Now I just have to figure out how to LICC him back -- his wants, his hads, and his cellar on his personal website are all extensive enough that finding some surprises might be a challenge...

    THANK YOU @UcDru!!!

A couple times a month! I'm lucky if I get to a bar once a month lately, but that's just due to a combination of
    A) Being busy with other stuff on my plate (like I said earlier, student teaching)
    B) As a result, general lack of funds
    C) Nobody I know locally really likes going out for beer specifically, which is a shame

My biggest constraint is nobody to share a bomber with. I have a guy who likes IPA types and that works just fine, but I have one fellow stout liker and those tend to sit.

I honestly have been into craft beer for maybe 15 months? And my wife a) is not into beer, and b) has low capacity, so even if we go to a bar she is good for one beer. If she has one and a half and I have three and a half, I am the DD.

So I just try and plan -- I'm sort of a ticker, but mainly to try stuff, so I LOVE places with flights. And if I have a high ABV bomber by myself, I try to have one with dinner and one at night. Of course, today I decided I had to have my LICC me growler, which arrived as I was on my way out the door Thursday. And the last few drops are in my glass right now. But it's a good thing I drank it today, because 32 oz of 8.5% abv beer on a weekday might be tough.

But one thing that works in my favor is that I usually like session beers and/or non-imperial stuff.

I can share with my wife, but tend to try saving rare/out of distro beers for a bigger group.

Sadly(not really), the rest bring as much or more beer, so the backlog doesn't seem to shrink.

And by the way, the ONLY reason targets aren't out yet is because I am totally engrossed in figuring out what to send @UcDru back as a LICC me, since there isn't a whole heck of a lot he hasn't already tried that I can acquire.

Other than my son, who is a BA, I have very few friends who appreciate craft beer. But when they come over, they ARE willing to at least split something, which works for bombers (even if they have 8oz and I "get stuck" with the other 14, that's manageable).

Don't be mistaken, I'm not blessed by a huge group. My usual tasting group is down to my wife and best friend. His brother moved to LA. Our other taster lives outside DC, and only gets up every couple months...

He wasy targets at round. A tough cookie to figure out. But I just opted for quantity!

    Targets! Targets! Targets!

I mean, don't get me wrong, "happy hour" means a quick stop on my way home after work, not anything exciting.

I'm trying to decide if that is better or worse than my "taster" group...
