Now onto day 3. This beer fux. Thanks @treznor
Cork and cage bottle. Dark purplish beer with almost no head retention. Some sort of fruited sour. Tastes like maybe plum or grape. This is really nice.
Casey the cut grape! This was great. Thanks @KyleDavis!
No worries at all. We love Weldwerks and the suMwuT blind aspect just proves it! Can't wait for the next 3 days! Hell we drove over 20 hours for it!
I did add in my shipping restrictions we'd be in Colorado that week.
Day 3 courtesy of @JasonR1975 a 10% ABV +...
Barrel aged stout. Adjunct? I think vanilla. Definitely got more vanilla as it warmed up. Medium bodied. Pretty boozy for a 10% stout...
And that’s probably because it was a 15% stout!!! New brewery. New tick. Delicious beer. Thanks Jason!
I'm moving to Mongolia, who dis?
Actually opening up today's beer at a normal hour today!
Something from Speciation (so the cork says). Sour, think there's probably some kind of fruit there, but not sure what.
Speciation Phylogenetic, foeder aged solera sour ale with tangerine. Damn good beer @core42!
Day 3 from @JNForsyth - proper glassware this time (target remembered to read instructions)
Big stout, full bodied, creamy mocha head, and bourbon for days. Not detecting any adjuncts. I love this. Based on glassware guessing bourbon betrayal.
Opening day 2 from @PA-Michigander today.
First sip it's for sure a sour. Straight out of the fridge, I'm not picking up any fruit.
After it warmed up a bit almost seems like cherries.
Flesh and Stone from Casa Agria. I've enjoyed everything thing I've been able to try from them, and this is no exception. I don't think I pick up on the mango even after knowing it's there, but still very enjoyable.
I only recognize Dans who have legs.
Heh, you know, I don't remember what I sent.. was it Home Sour Home?
On the 3rd dat of Stoutmas... @campa86 gave to me:
Diabetes...that's what! This stout is super sweet with caramel notes. Pretty dang good. No clue what it is...but I really enjoy it.
Mikkeller Brandy Barrel Aged X. That Brandy barrel really brings out some pastry goodness. Thanks Campa!
Day 3 from @dannyfayy brought another saison. Slightly tart and sweet with a good helping of black currants. I guessed it was from de Garde...
New tick, and brewery tick on top of it. Very nice and refreshing, thanks Dan!
And the last of the extras, obviously #3. Dan had said he liked this one more than MD, so I figured I would go share it a buddy (hence the lack of #PGW). This was on a completely different level than MD. Decently carbed, thin, tons of roast coffee, with a ton of maple syrup, but not overly sweet like MD.
Never knew this existed! My personal preference goes to MD, but that doesn't take away from the fact that this stout is fantastic, just in a different way. Thanks again @dannyfayy
Day #3 from @Devman171
After a busy day I got back to the hotel to crack open a beer. Decided on an IPA and grabbed one of the wrapped cans.
Oh snap. Ooops. Definitely not an IPA. Tasting like a barleywine.
Aslin Rich Mahagony barleywine. Not what I was expecting but a good beer to end the day with. Thanks Devin.
Day 3 from @jschott75
Nice refreshing saison/wild. Lots of lemon. Green glass, plain silver cap. Can't figure out the brewery, but it's really tasty.
Funk Factory - Meerts
New tick, thanks Jim.
No work means Day 4 gets opened in between World Cup matches
I don't know who uses orange caps but style wise this seems to be a tart brett saison. Not a ton of sour & super crushable
No wonder I didn't have any idea of the brewery because @oline73 is from Maryland but this is from an IL brewery
A great beer for a hot afternoon
I'm from IL and haven't heard of this one. Might have to change that.
The troll of @mervmurry is going well so far.
Just kidding, very busy on the weekends and it's very hard to post on BA, did check in on Untappd and posted pics on Slack. Also, you'd think it'd be a lot easier to upload pics on a site where so many are uploaded day to day.
Day 1 was split in to two beers, started with the can marked 1A:
Juicy, hazy IPA. Not aware of any of those made in KY, didn't realize Michael was so close to Cincinnati. Proper glassware pull was dumb luck.
Listermann - Hank the Dumpster Kitty
Great way to start the BIF off!
Then on to day 1B, kept the Listermann glass figuring it was another beer from them:
Yes it was! Chickow! Vanilla Caramel Cookie. This was decent, really sweet at first but I really enjoyed it as it warmed up.
Day 2 was shared Saturday @Mipper 's house along with @PA-Michigander and @Houser:
Side Project Fencerow!
Wow, this was damn good. Like straight tart raspberry juice.
Before the new Enforcers come after me, I am a day late in posting, but not drinking, or sharing.
I shared this with @Jwilford23 as he got back into town from Equillibrium. Great flavor and I guessed raspberries.
Blackberry East Bank. Three days, three awesome beers. Thanks @Kramerbarthomer, I've got day four chilling for this evening.
And finally opened Day just before midnight after driving all over the state to visit family all day:
Removal of cap revealed a cork, a super dry cork that feel apart as I tried to remove it. What's left of the cork said Streetside Brewing, which I'm not familiar with.
A sour for sure, thinking Strawberry or maybe Melon?
Ended up being a wild ale brewed with tea. So many flavors going on with this, nice sour notes and tons of fruits/herbs going on. Interesting and complex, I enjoyed it.
This is my friend’s brewery. He makes some really nice saisons.
The review from yesterday. The wife tried to walk away with the bottle. Thanks again @UcDru
I think @UcDru is ok sending out "wedding Beers" but he's not allowed to send out any "Expecting Beers" ........all of those need to stay at home..............if you know what I mean/heard.
When I saw the wax top I thought I was in for some sort of BA stout, but instead I get a dark, fruited sour. Tastes like cherries and some oak, but not a spirit barrel. no clue what beer it is, but I like it very much.
Seditious Ways from Rare Barrel! I love Rare Barrel. Not exactly a "local" beer, but a damn good beer that I'm happy to have. Thanks @KyleDavis!
Day 4 from @dannyfayy came in the form of a 375ml green bottle, plain silver cap. Poured a prickly hazy orange. First impression was slightly sour peaches with a little hint of oak behind it. Given the region, I figured it was an Allagash sour...
So close, yet so far. Yet another new brewery tick! Very refreshing, the oak became more apparent the warmer it got. Thanks again Dan!
Day Fo from my bro @treznor
This one is drinking mighty fine.
@azuelke sent me a mini Very for day 4.
First one pours black, not terribly thick.. taste is big coffee and a sweet vanilla finish.. I’m thinking Peruvian morning
Second one has a pretty bad smell.. taste isn’t much better..
Its Cassian Sunset 17 & 18!
The replacement bottle was the same year Adam but unfortunatly the same smell.. thanks! And a reminder to drink fresh!
I'm not liking this comment
Cheers! I made sure soon the extras were local beers to make up for none of you wrapped Days being local.
5/6 wrapped Days are from breweries I'm a member of.
1/6 Days is double digit (by a lot) ABV.
Day 4, CCB. Big black BA stout. Whiskey barrel and don't taste much for adjuncts. I haven't broken into my last El :cat2: bottles but could also be MZ. Thanks @UcDru but damn on a Monday night....
Yeah...... so I dont apologize for the BA MZ on a Monday night <sweep the leg Johnny no mercy> but I do apologize for not checking your BA profile before I sent you an el cat bottle...
Drew isn't the sharpest Local, so we will apologize for him sending an El Cat bottle to an El Cat member, if that's what it ends up being. His humor and comedy make up for his shortcomings though...
Damnit, I didn't see Drew's comment before posting.
Forgot to post yesterday's reveal.. I was close, it was
Map of the Sun 15'! I knew there was apricots in there. Thx again Andrei. I won't get to a beer today so I'll double up tomorrow night or on the 4th!
Reading is hard for people in PA... we understand
I'll allow it.
