The Locals HINTS AND HAULS THREAD

So this will surprise none of you, but I have a few updates on the man, the myth, the legend, who is @Tee2Grn

First, he's a wizard. FedEx claimed this box was 16#. As I'm sure you can see, that's impossible. It was also packed so well that even the asshat FedEx drivers in New Jersey would've let it cruise on by to @jawas house. The beers just kept coming out of this sucker. Aliens.

Second, he's a liar. I was told there would be Bud Light Lime, Miller, Keystone, etc to keep me hydrated this weekend in Glenwood. Instead, this asshole packs the box full of delicious wants, should've been wants, permawants, and "If I knew it was that kind of BIF I'd've stuck my dick in the mashed potatoes" level wants (bonus points for anyone who gets the reference. also #beermuffs).



Damn son, that's a pretty sight.



- I show the picture to @StrongRepublican and his first comment is on the local cans to the left. He says they're amazing. Off to a good start.
- Next, one of the top performers from our coffee night literally last Thursday, was the Hideout. Super glad to have another as the last bottle wasn't mine.

- Sticky Icky Icky (in competition for best beer name) Looks fantastic
- No Rules -- love the bottle. 15% imperial vietnamese porter. I can't even with this (-_-) The first review on BA (100% btw) says this: Notes of vanilla, maple syrup, whiskey. I'm in, hook line and sinker.
- Oh NBD, just a bottle of Dragontrax Night Fury -- are you freaking kidding me bud? I thought this was a nice friendly game of fun local beers! Didn't realize we were blowing it right out of the park with megawant walez?! 6-to-midnight.
- Awesome Teku that I will break in while drinking said Dragontrax.



- Lil Griz --Bourbon barrel aged brown? sign me up.
- Blushing Monk -- somebody must've heard that I like fruited beers
- Terra Firma Manitou -- I love it! Manitou Springs is a little suburb of Colorado Springs, saving the can for sure.
- Founders Imperial Stout -- permawant status.
- Queen of Tarts -- Love the reference, looks delicious.
- Nectar of the Brewer -- Apricots? Yes PLEASE.

Glad everything made it safe. I was nervous with the recent FedEx talk and the fact that DragonTraxx was in the box. . @StrongRepublican is right, those cans are delicious. Blackrocks has just recently started distributing cans. They also make a great IPA but there weren't any fresh cans available around town. Sticky Icky Icky is delicious and perfectly named for Colorado. Sorry for lying about the Bud Light. I guess you'll have to stop at the store and get your own hydration whalez. Also, I believe your mashed potatoes reference is from the Beastie Boys.

 

Dayum, just send my box back (it's on a truck), you have plenty of beer(whalez) now!

Hint #2: My target is not new to the Locals
Hint #3: I have received a box from my target's state in one or more of the BIFs that I have participated in
Hint #4: There are multiple participants my my target's state, at least one of them is new
Hint #5: My target has more than one Russian River beer on their Wants, one of which comes out on 9/20
Info #1: I'll be shipping in the latter half of the month-long window
Info #2: I can't hit a huge portion of my target's wants, but that is when this is most fun

 

The only reason I know about Blackrocks is that I used to work with a Captain in my Army days that would always preach about how underrepresented upper peninsula MI beers were and then I had that Coconut Brown Ale and knew he was spitting live fire. That same guy was/is friends with the owners at Blackrock as well as Cognition and one other brewery he told me about that I can't remember right now.

 

@mbmiche is a lucky man (this is my hunch, and I'm calling him out in case he hasn't been following along. Plus, now get gets to wait in anticipation for 3-4 more weeks).

 

I have zero idea what to guess for this, but I'm gonna go with 33.3miles




I had a 12-shipper sitting around from a LIF win recently where some jack-ass from Kentucky absolutely destroyed my porch. I had to sleep on the couch for a few days... It was the only box I had and that BASS looked so lonely in that shipper, so I figured that I had better send a few friends along for the ride. Lots of hops to help you through this late season hot streak (and enough to share with a friend or pissed off wife...). Enjoy!

Hmmm, I'm not sure which one I sent you. If memory serves me (and it usually doesn't) that was a box I received from @Littlelotte88 for 12 days Summer. I do know that my wife said that was the best packed box she has ever seen. And she's seen a lot of boxes.......HEY OOOOO! JK,don't tell her I said that....please
