The Locals HINTS AND HAULS THREAD

Don't think this will apply to me but responding anyway.

 

#2 would be just fine, I don't see the point in a lesser quality box just to get beer a week or two sooner. #3 would be fine by me, but if I were you I wouldn't want to spend for shipping twice if I didn't have to.

 

Option 3... love getting more boxes

 

Who doesn't, but if it's the same amount of beer then save on shipping... now, if 2 boxes = more beer, then I'm all for that!

 

The early box wouldn't be lower quality (I worded it poorly) but would be more local heavy. In fact if I knew I was shipping early I might send something I was planning to bring with me to share with peeps who can't get that beer where I'm going for vacation (whereas I would have already shared it and it wouldn't be available for option #2). Just as possible what I would send early would be of a higher quality than what I'm bringing back (hard to know for sure until I have bought anything on vacation).

I just didn't want to ship later without a head's up and maybe get my target to answer his/her preference .

 

Hint #3 - I've already got 230oz 254oz planned in my head, only one bottle will require any amount of tracking down, the rest is easy to get a hold of.

Hint #2, 1st beer I knew I was sending, think of a campfire snack

 

Hint#2: I can easily cover 2 wants, those 2 are not locals. It will be the extras.

 

I'm all for saving money on shipping.

Hint #4 - Not counting the three 'local available' wants (which are also not included in the 254oz... I guess I'm up to 290oz total), I've got five on my list to send that are 90+, and another 89 that I think should be at least a 90. I know this isn't a ratings-fest, it's all about the local, but it doesn't hurt when the beer is local AND really good...

 

Hint #2. Shipping West

 

I know I can hit at least 2 of my target's wants, 1 without leaving the house.

 

I hope my target updates his wants... because he doesn't have a lot of wants... and most of them are whales that i don't have or have access to... and I'd love to hit a few wants too...

In a stunning development I'll be receiving some excellent beer in the next few days(assuming they make it here in one piece). These particular brews need to be sent out quickly. (weirdly enough these beers would likely have been part of my smuggling expedition)

After looking through my targets wants, coincidentally these particular brews are on my target's want list! Looks like I'm sending early! In addition after looking through my target's wants I have 2 others ready to go in my cellar. I think my decision has been made : ).

 

Hint #4b - Unless something isn't available when I go shopping, or I think of something I can't believe I was going to leave out, I think I'm just about done putting my box together (mentally, only a few of these are on hand). The final tally is 302 oz of 87.52 average beer, with all told 8 bottles at 90+ and nothing below an 80.

The list includes 4 wants (3 of those are 'local available'). Excepting those 3 wants, 100% of the beer is produced in state, including 5 breweries within 20 miles from me, 6 if you count my homebrew (which did not go into the rAvg, thankfully for the average)
