and now i'm down to 3 possible senders... with one or two that i'm favoring...

 

Gentleman, last weekend I sang the high praises of my very favorite Chicago brewery, Pipeworks, and all of the amazing things they do. I preached from my virtual pulpit that this is a brewery every craft beer enthusiast must experience. I told you how I've supported them from "almost" the begging and that I love how their beer has been traveling amongst the community.

Well, now I am giving one of you very lucky individuals the opportunity to share in my experience and try two of beautifully crafted beers, obligation free.

Is the Grouper Square still on the shelves?

 

Unfortunately not. It doesn't really actually hit shelves, it sits behind counters and is by request only. The average time of sell out at stores that get it has been roughly 36 minutes from what I've seen. It's pretty damn crazy, but I did some hunting yesterday on my lunch break and was able to run down two bottles!

 

FTFY, I know the bottle makes it look like Grouper Square, but it's the reverse

 

Just did some major shopping for my target. Lots of dark beer, got lucky and landed an extra beer that I thought had sold out that my target should really enjoy. Hopefully going to ship next week, just need another bottle or 2, currently at around 246 oz.

 

Hint #1: Shipping EAST!
Hint #2: I have never shipped anything to my target before
Hint #3: My target has never shipped anything to me before
Hint #4: I am shipping both North and East of Wedowee, AL
Hint #5: My target listened to my past request and added a few wants from Colorado, of which I will be able to hit several...

 

Way to go on the grouper! It took me many phone calls and lots of stopping in person to track down the one bottle that I was able to get. We also had Bo and Luke, BA Biscotti, and PW Over the line roll out, and It was a mad frantic dash to locate those too, and I wasn't able to hit every one. Sell-outs within the hour were the norm. I need to figure out the delivery route for Windy City and AB and start Stalking...

BTW, was there a second round of delivery?

 

I thought I had more CO wants than I did when this thing started, and I definitely added a boat load. As I'm narrowed down to 3 theoretically possible senders:

I'm almost certain it isn't @HoppySeb; I haven't 'traded with' him, but he sent me a big LIF box and I assume that counts; especially since Mike told us to let him know from whom we've received boxes

It could still be @raulazzer since he's left so few hints....

But I'm going to go out on a limb and call you out Assuming I'm right, feel free to start posting content hints!

...also feel free to drop everything you're doing next time Casey does a release! #srsnotsrs (it's a complete pipe dream, but man am I ISO their beer and their snifter, I just don't know anyone in Aspen, only Denver)

NBO - Sixterhood trip #5

If you would like to be in consideration to be the recipient of a 6-shipper box filled with great stuff, please BM me your shipping address and your best guess as to who may favorite "football" team is. If you would prefer to skip this trip and sign up for a future trip, don't send me your address and wait for the next person to post their NBO to sign up.

Signup period ends at noon Monday October 13th. At that time I will randomly select the recipient and start posting hints as to who it is. Box will be shipped as soon as I get it ready!

Trip #1 - Maryland --> Texas (complete)
Trip #2 - Texas --> Illinois (complete)
Trip #3 - Illinois --> Colorado (complete)
Trip #4 - Colorado --> Texas
Trip #5 - Texas --> ???

How Sixterhood works:

1) The current holder of the Sixterhood box will make a post in the Locals BIF thread saying that the signup period for the next Trip is open and will be open for 2 or 3 days. Anyone that would like to be a potential target for the box would send their address information in a BM to the current holder of the box. To be eligible the person must have:
a) participated in Locals BIF rounds 1, 2 (summer 6'er), OR 3 (current round)
b) have not already received the Sixterhood box.

2) After the signup period is over, the current holder will randomly pick the next lucky recipient of the Sixterhood box. They will not announce this person nor the number of people that signed up, but instead will start posting hints as to where the box is going (BIF style hints). If no one signs up to be the next recipient then, as the original founder, heystevec will be the final recipient (hopefully without him knowing that it is coming to him).

3) The holder of the Sixterhood box will fill the box with high quality local bottles or wants and ship it to the target. Make it a kickass box, but with this group of people I know we won't have to worry about that. Also, add the targets name to the tracking board in the box and add any 'decorations' that you wish to help commemorate the box's visit to your state.

4) Once the box is received by the target, they will post the pr0n for all to enjoy.

5) Start over at #1

You do not have to enter every signup period. You can pick and choose when you want to be in consideration to be the next recipient. This would be nice if the current holder of the box is from your own state or an adjoining state or if you are going to be out of town for a while or whatever. Jump in and out as you please.

 

Thank you sir. I didn't know we were getting more Bo and Luke in... I must be slipping. I also haven't heard anything about a second release other than in the city. I doubt the burbs will get any more of anything. They did just drop a new barrel aged collab with Anderson Valley called As you wish. Just grabbed a bottle from the DG Binnys, be on the watch for that.

Target ... Y U NO like Double Duckpin?!?

Too many great peeps have intervened with likes to withhold this from you. Going to grab you a growler and myself one for tonight - GO O'S!!!

My ounce-age for this box is going to be out of this world, I think close to 400!!!

 

Content hint: Finally picked up my first beers purchased for the BIF after the round actually started (i.e. not beers I'd picked up before that I knew I would toss in). Of the 5 beers I picked up, 3 are GABF award winners, 1 is a beer from the same brewery as one of those winners and is arguably better than that beer, and the last beer is one I'm actually not a fan of but others seem to really like.

No more beer can fit in this box! I lied about the ounce-age, its 384oz. I could throw in more Sweet Baby Jesus to take it over 4 bills, but I like the way everything is packed. I really hope you enjoy everything.

This growler came from @kgncfl when he sent me some Bodhi. It has only had Bodhi and Double Duckpin in it. Keep the growler sacred like it should be. Treat it well. Caress it. Buy it dinner. And make sure you call it in the morning!

* Im ******ed!!!! After getting growlers filled I rushed out of the brewery (see skipped like a little girl) to get home so I can spring my wife from kid duties and let her go out ... I totally f*#king forgot to buy your swag, a hat! I wont be able to get back before your box is outbound, so I am making an appeal to the group -- CAN I SEND EXTRA CRAB CHIPS IN LIEU OF SWAG since I am ******ed? If the consensus is, no, I am just going to get some swag shipped on its own to you.

 

If they say no, just ship the empty bag as a hat. I think extra chips can be swag.
