You bite your tongue! If he gets hurt today I am going to drive up to New York, wait until you are not looking and give you what for! He was hurt last year and they looked terrible without him. Don't want to watch that again.

Nick, I know you're a bit newer to this thread.... but have you SEEN Mike's avatar? He is not to be trifled with.

....although I see you turning into 'mom saves baby by lifting car' mode over Rodgers getting hurt, so maybe it's a fair fight after all

Not to mention that the thought of @PA-Michigander "giving me what for" is an intimidating threat. (I actually laughed at his use of that phrase).

And I am NOT rooting for "the good A-Rod" to get hurt, just couldn't help myself from adding a second sentence to my post.

Oh I completely knew you were bustin my balls, and I thought your comment was hilarious. I've got 3 older brothers, believe me, I can take it  You and I are always on the same page.

As for the BCBBW being aged 2 years, when they bottled that batch in 2013 it had already spent a year in barrels. They left some of it sitting in barrels for a second year (like awesome breweries can do just because) and then kegged and poured some this weekend.

I know my math adds up on this one

    Welcome to the group!

I'll jump in and go against the grain... I say the Packers win by -4 points (sorry, I have way too many Vikings fans...) and Rodgers gets 250 yards.

I just had the normal 2013 BCBBW two nights ago and it was drinking pretty awesome right now. How was the 2-year aged batch?

Still have 2 BCBBW, 2 BCBCS, 2 BCBS, and a Backyard Rye bomber to go

Mike, that 2 year batch was unreal. To be honest, it didn't even taste like the stuff they bottled. I got way more dark fruit flavors (raisins and molasses) than I did some of those caramel-like sweet flavors I get with the 2013 bottled stuff. Both are great.

That Backyard Rye is going to be amazing (I'm hoping, I've got 2 as well and can't wait to see what time has done). Those fruit BCBS variants hold up so much better against time than any of the other adjuncts in my opinion and the fruit gets so much deeper in flavor.

That's what I'm hoping. I know I sat way, way too long on the Coffee. Honestly they kind of got tossed on the 'age' shelves along with the rest of the BCBS and variants and I forgot that I had them until I looked just now. Hopefully they buck the trend of 'coffee beers should be drunk fresh'.

Hell yea I've seen his avatar and heard of his stories trip to meet the OP didn't you see the part about him 'not looking'? It would have to be a quick cheap shot. I ain't standing toe to toe with him!

Yeah I figured there was something I just didn't know about that, it'd be a hard detail to get wrong  I'm pretty jealous about that, I LOVE BCBBW as is, I can only imagine what another whole year in the barrel would do for it.

I mean, people still covet 2011 and 2012 BCBCS, so it's not like it 'goes bad' I had some of the 2013 on tap a month or two ago and it's drinking fabulously; maybe not quite as coffee forward, but that's ultimately a matter of preference anyway. I do admit though that I moved the 4 bottles I had from "1 each year" to "1 each 6 months" when I learned that coffee fades rather quickly. (I didn't mind making the change either, it meant having a bottle on the spot) I'm now looking forward to a comparison of 2013 against 2014 once the new one comes out!

So I dreamed up an interesting thought experiment, if from today forward you could ONLY have beers from breweries you have experience with (have drank at least one of their beers, or at least own one), what breweries would you be most sad never to get to try? Put a different way, what brewers (but not specific beers) are at the top of your hit list?

No being modest with "I'm just happy to have had all the awesome beer I already have" ... I'm just curious what brewers people want to try but haven't yet gotten to.

Tree House, Tired Hands, Funky Buddah, SARA and DeGarde would be at the top if the list for me. I haven't had a beer from any of them but I definitely want beer from them. I'm sure I am probably missing a couple but these are the ones that popped in my head right away

By the way, the list I came up with was Almanac, Cascade, Tree House, Cycle Brewing, Peekskill, Plan Bee, Kuhnhenn, "and a ton of Portland breweries I don't know about" (it can't be beer mecca just for the couple I know of)

That said, (and I knew this would happen) just the first couple people have already reminded me that De Garde, Side Project, and Funky Buddah are all definitely on my list as well.
