The new Ballast Point facility was freaking amazing and the Variants of the Victory at Sea didn't hurt. Visited Noble, Bruery, Alesmith and Ballast Point. Finally got to taste Societe (pupil) and the weather didn't suck at all.....Had great meals at Father's Office (i think) near LA and Provisions in Orange.

@wheelzntoys Why do you ask are you looking for a room mate?

It's a good thing I'm in the business I am in, because all my guys are coming over tomorrow to fix my porch. It was DESTROYED today.

Just got home - package arrived all safe and sound. I had asked for a redirect to a FedEx location this morning (but it was about 5:00 am though) and said they couldnt have it redirected and have it be available for pickup the same day, so I cancelled it (had to work late tonight).

Um, yeah, that was unexpected. At first I thought that Mike had lied to me and sent me me another box, but was pumped to find out I get more surprise tasty stuff.

    pRon incoming tonight!!

Working on pRon. Since I got two boxes at the same time today, I'm gonna drink two beers at the same time while I unpack. Brooklyn Black Chocolate 13/14 & 14/15.

Any sign of infection? I opened one of these the other day that had soured a bit. Was still tasty but I don't think it was what it should've been.

Well a little while back in the Stout BIF, I sent @Lehighace06 a few beers he mentioned he would like to try. So he drops this unexpected return box on me today at the same time that baddass trade from @Mikexw comes in.

    A box of 100% WANTS!!!!!

FFF Robert the Bruce -love Scottish ales and have't really had much from them.
RR Damnation - RR. 'nuff said.
Bells Expedition - Permawant - no Bells in TX
Bells Cherry Stout - Again, no Bells in TX
Spring House Braaaiins - I have liked everything from these boys.
Hopping Frog BORIS - big want and I see it everywhere on BA, so very excited.
Andechs Doppelbock!!!! - HUGE WANT. story to follow
Troegenator - @PA-Michigander sent me one a few weeks ago and I LOVED it, so happy to get another. Stands toe to toe witht the Germans.
    Mad Elf -want!
    Terrapin Pumpkinfest another want!

Andechs story - German bier is my first love and will always be, even with all the great American craft out there. It might get boring for some, but they do it right. After I read the Beer Drinker's Guide to Munich (only book I've read cover to cover in 10 years BTW) I said I must go to Munich, esp. Andechs. So when I finish up my project, working 12 hour days six days a week for a year and a half (next year sometime), I am trekking to Germany solo to specifically go to Andechs (I'm probably gonna stop a few other places too). So this specific bier you sent me kind of revitalizes my personal goals and the reward I have set for myself. Thanks Kevin.

Here you go boys, something to take your filthy minds off this dirty football game. Great box from @UcDru with some really nice extras. Drinking the Triple Point now and the hazelnut is really damn nice.

That's awesome man, when you agreed to send me some stuff, you might remember that the next thing I said to you was something along the lines of "your porch will regret the shit out of sending me free beer. i have seen your wants, and will destroy you" I had a LOT of fun putting that box together for you. Now that I know how you feel about German bier, I may have to send a follow up box... once photographed, that does not look nearly as impressive as I was counting on :flushed:

Seriously though, I don't know what you have available import-wise, but my main bottle shop has a pretty awesome selection, and between there and a couple other spots, I can track down just a pretty great assortment of German bier. You might want to update your wants with some other items of Deutsch origin. We'll talk.

edit: I realized why it doesn't look as impressive as I thought it would: I somehow left a beer or two out (besides the Moo Hoo that @Mikexw's box ate) ... this is what I get for packing a box at 3am... Depending on how much German bier I shove into part 2 I may or may not let you send me some more Texas goodness, but there will be a part 2 at some point (maybe not soon, I've got the 12 Beers of Xmas BIF and 4 boxes from my Baby LIF to get out first)

Solid nice places! Room mate? Sure, I have a spare empty bedroom and a fridge full of beer in the garage.

Father's Office is pretty awesome. The last time I was out in LA I went to the one in Santa Monica and was quite happy (even though it was packed).

How was this? I have maybe a half-dozen or so of this series that I haven't tried any of yet, including the Heirloom Pumpkin. Considering the price point on these, I hope its pretty tasty

edit: I was so close to doing the Backyard Rye I was thinking about, and saving this to side-by-side with 2014, but I decided that Backyard would be better opened tomorrow with friends.

Yup. Pretty dissapointed. The one I had 6 weeks ago was outstanding. This one got worse as I finished it. Great beer when at its best.

So @HoppySeb evidently decided that he hadn't already thoroughly destroyed my cellar shelves and sent a second box. The first box was ridiculousness, a second box was just crazy!

Lagunitas Born Yesterday Pale Ale - Lagunitas is probably my favorite everyday drinking brewery out there. They make awesome beer, price it fairly, and make it fairly easy to find. Unfortunately Born Yesterday has been somewhat of an exception as it just hasn't made it to the East Coast that I've seen, and certainly haven't noticed it near me. So happy to get this! There was another one in the box, but it wasn't in the picture as it's already in the fridge getting cold.

Elysian Punkuccino - My wife absolutely loves Elysian. When I showed her the bottle she said Elysian is possibly the single reason she wants to move to the Pacific NW (personally I think there are plenty of other reasons as well...). Can't wait to try this as it sounds awesome.

Fremont BBA Dark Star Spice Wars - So I pulled this out of the box and was all like 'awesome! BBA Stout? Yes please!'. And then when I was looking at the bottle I started thinking to myself, this looks really familiar. So @HoppySeb sent Fremont BBA Dark Star in his first box to me, so now I have this to compare with and do a mini-horizontal! I had to actually look kinda closely at the label to notice the difference and then had to go read up on it  Can't wait to try these two next to each other!

Man, @HoppySeb really knocked it out of the park with this cherry-on-top box!
