On the 2nd day of Stoutmas.... @campa86 gave to me!



Cork and cage which revealed a Hangar 24 bottle....This was a thick sweet stout. Lots of barrel, chocolate and the bitterness of coffee. Has to be a Pugachev's variant.

Pugachev's Toasted almond...A great beer. Loved it. Didn't really get any almond but really enjoyed it! Thanks Stout Lord!

After a long Fkn day of driving I was needing a beer before hitting the sack. Chose one of the small format bottles.



Bottle cap gave away the brewery and the color narrowed it down to base stout or coffee. Don't get any coffee in the aroma so guessing regular stout. 12oz bottle so its 2014 or older. No way I would be able to guess the year.



2013. So good. Perfect beer to help me relax and fall asleep. Thanks Devin!

 

Day 2 reveal - joining that +15% club again via @JNForsyth

Day 2 from @valrxman was another dark beer. Super sweet BA barleywine. It kind of reminded me of ADWTD.

Turns out it was BA Mongo. I sipped on this for hours and really enjoyed it. I’ve added it to my short list of approved barleywines.

 

Soooo... late start to the day. Was out at a friend's pool all afternoon and evening, drinking some beers, floating, and watching some movies. Despicable Me 2 and National Lampoon's Vacation this time. Something we do a decent amount in the summer. I was considering taking my Day beer with me, but figured it'd be better to drink it when we got back home... but didn't plan on that being 1:30am. Oh, well. Let's crack it open!



Crack it open and I can see a Three Floyds cap and grey wax... Which I'm fairly certain means @core42 is trying to kil me. First thing that pops to mind is Dark Lord and after pouring it and drinking a bit... Definitely Dark Lord.



Yup! Dark Lord! Thanks Jeff! I will punish my liver into submission and finish this tonight!

 

Day 2 from @bstoos brought me 2 cans, first up was:


The smell on this thing hit me over the head right when the can popped, wonderful tropical fruit scents. Was very surprised by the big hop bitterness on this bad boy. No idea on what beer it is though.

Reveal:

Foreign objects Mercury rising. Never even heard of this brewery before, so definitely a new tick. If this is the type of stuff they pump out, then I am a fan.

Beer 2 for day 2:


Once again hit over the head with the smell as soon as the can popped. This one always has that huge hop bitterness on the front end. Super dry finish, super solid IPA. Figure same brewery , but no idea on which beer.



Super solid IPA's from these guys and they are definitely on my radar now, thanks @bstoos

 

Sorry for being late to post this here. Hate being disrespectful to my sender like that.
Long hot day yesterday did a 100 mile charity bicycle ride in 90* heat, but after tearing the paper wrapper off the top of my day 2 bottle my mind changed to other thought.

This poured a bright red color cherries for days this is a great beer. well on to the reveal

 

Finished unwrapping day 2 beer from @Dave_Treat and I never would have guessed what it was as my Belgium beer knowledge is lacking. Oude Kriekenlambik (2016-2017) Assemblage No. 32.

day 1 of my threeer from @andreizm, it was the hottest day of the year, but good thing all weather is stout weather for this behemoth

Odds are pretty good today’s beer is going to be a stout. Dave said he sent 3 stouts and 3 sours and well the first 2 were sours.

 

I got a late start on my Day 2 beers from @dannyfayy, so its only fitting I'm late to posting them, amirite? Anywho, Dan sent along some assumably #PGW so with a little research, I knew to use it with this bottle, and subsequently what the beer was:



Heavy barrel presence with a ton of dark fruits and toffee all over this sucker. I'm not the biggest fan of quads, but this one was a nice sipper that took me way too long to finish. Thanks Dan!

 

But that wasn't all from @dannyfayy for Day 2, I cracked the "extra 2" as well. First impression was an extremely thin stout, maybe porter, with an ass load of sweet coffee and a touch of chocolate on the back end.



I couldn't pick up on any coconut, even after knowing it should have been there. Now I wish Dan would have labeled that one to be consumed for breakfast

 

Looks like the same date as the Mag we had at the Locals party & I can confirm that beer fucks!

 

Dont say that too loud..... the Pittsburgh shit lords be mad a mag makes it out of the state without their consent.
