Day 2 from my boi @tommyguz was another banger!

In fact, it banged so hard I forgot to take a picture of the unwrapped bottle! Another Rooney's Red, this time with Maple. I could crush several bottles of this, fantastic balance. Cheers Tommy!

@tommyguz with a fukken hat trick on day 3!

Holy Putin riding a Grizzly Bear, Batman! The hype is real fam. The grand marshall of the anti-pastry stout parade, this beer is a perfection of balance, 2cs thicc, barrel and brownies for days, dark fruit perfectly in check when vanilla from the barrel. I'll take a case for :diab:, thanks Tommy!

Wow! Don't think I've ever got so much vanilla from a sour. Big thanks @UcDru this was mind blowing good. I don't remember this being this good the last time I had it

This is the bourbon barrel aged version I saw you had checked in the regular and rated it pretty high so I thought this might be in your wheelhouse.

Enjoying this extra from @azuelke under a popup tent between games today. I’m coaching my girls team in a local tournament this weekend. This hit the spot with a brown bag lunch.

I’m greeted with a Bottle Logic cap once again, so at least I know that I’m most likely on my fourth straight stout of the Spring 6er
    [IMG]

The pour is not nearly as thicc as the previous days. The aroma is pretty heavy on the cinnamon notes. The flavor is full of cinnamon and a peppery heat. My guess is that this is Leche Borracho.

Nailed it! Thanks again @Sassyshe888! This has been an awesome round.

Day 4 brought a 500 ml bottle with a definite barrel aged stout
    [IMG]
I'm not really getting any adjuncts but a decent amount of barrel & maybe some chocolate. I got one of the JWB Voltron like series bottles for an extra so I'm guessing it's from that series....maybe the non adjuncted base
    [IMG]

I was close...it is from that series but there is vanilla that I didn't really pick up on until it was basically room temperature although my palate is notoriously bad at picking up vanilla
Another great beer with lots of barrel & fudginess

So timing and drinking on schedule has been tough -- yesterday I had the sincere pleasure of meeting up with @Devman171 at Equilibrium brewing, by the time I got home I didn't want to open day 3, since I had to get up early and leave by about 8AM for a wedding this morning. And since Travis has been hitting me with big stouts, I had biological reasons for not wanting to drink it last night.

The good news is the wedding was awesome (if anybody's never attended an Indian wedding, you need to), but the beer selection was limited. So one skunky tick and one mixed drink were it for me, and I figure I can catch up on day 3 and still do day 4 today.

First, day 3 (yesterday's beer, opened after getting home)...

I used my new Ethereal glass from @tsgooch79 , and while the bottle was wrapped well, enough of the cap showed that I suspected Bottle Logic -- the aforementioned Devin gifted me a bottle yesterday, so the cap was very familiar.

Right after pouring, two things jumped out -- vanilla and barrel. So I did a BA search on "Bottle Logic vanilla barrel". And I got a "No results. Try being more specific" back as the result, but the first google result starts off with "The vanilla balances nicely with the big barrel aged stout for a well balanced Imperial." And that result is referring to f&*(^*()&)ing Fundamental Observation!! So in the interest of time (I have another day to get through) I'm gonna go with that...and ... survey says...

Bingo! A few things worth pointing out --

#1 -- given the style, brewery, and general reviews this was probably in my top 5 wants. And probably number 1 or 2 on my "realistically possible to acquire" wants.

#2 -- I actually was ninja'ed a bottle of this about a month ago by @Orca_Whale from the Rookies BIF. But was saving it to share with @dwmetsfan13 , so I'll still do that, but he might actually get a fair share of the bottle now.

So anyway -- I guess I'm now a (lucky) 2 for 3 this round, and managed to tag a total of four different BA's for a variety of different reasons.

Thanks a ton Travis -- and while I've still got a decent amount of this left, I am cautiously optimistic that day 4 will indeed happen tonight.

    Day 4...

Brown-black. Medium bodied. Stout. And adjuncts. Coffee for sure. And peppers? I think so. I think there's a little barrel in here but it's pretty mild. No clue what this could be... 22 oz bottle..

No clue at all. Lets open it up.

DB Bible Belt??? No wonder I had no clue what this was. I had no idea this beer even existed!!! Yet another great reason to do these BIF rounds. Thanks for another awesome one @Mikexw !!

The best thing about having you as a target is that sending a diversity of styles is definitely NOT an issue I have to concern myself with...

OK -- so I went into Day 4 with an a priori assumption this was gonna be something from Country Boy (I'm guessing @tsgooch79 sent me 2 wrapped beers from each of 3 breweries). And the wax and cap (it's got some weird multi-layered high-intensity tape) were close enough to day 1 that I'm sure of it.

Travis told me ahead of time that everything he sent was from a barrel. And while this one is dark, it is most definitely NOT a stout. And I honestly don't get a whole lot of barrel. If I didn't "know" one was there I would think this was a Cascadian Dark Ale (aka Black IPA #oxymoron) -- which by the way, was probably my favorite style for about 6 months a while back.

But moving right along -- Country Boy has a total of 96 current beers on BA -- 9 include "Barrel" in the name, most are stouts, and one happens to be an American Black Ale. WTF? A barrel aged black IPA? Weird, but it makes this seem like a no-brainer.

So I'm doing a James Holzhauer here and going all in on this Being BA Infinite Sadness.

    And duh. Got another one.

Thanks @tsgooch79 -- tomorrow will be another tricky one, since we're going to friends for a barbecue -- but I will do my best to pregame with my wrapped bottle.

This continues to be a very fun round. Thanks to @dannyfayy too for running it!

Day 4 pick from @PassMeAZima brought this beauty. I'm currently stuck at a wedding, so it is definitely a BYOB sort of situation. Plain black cage and cork, sour with a boatload of fruit. I got a ton of blackberry, and based on a previous bottle, I thought this one might be Casey Funky Blenders: Blackberry...

Pretty damn close, this is damn fine. I'm getting a lot more cherry towards the bottom of the bootle. Thanks once again Jason!

@dannyfayy informed me that Day 4 brings me 32oz of stout. You will never hear me complain about that! The first can pours dark and instantly smells of roasted peanuts.

My guess is with all the trillium extras this has to be Peanut Butter PM Dawn.

Winner Winner! This beer is great! Thanks buddy! Now on the 4b. It’s gotta be another variant of PM Dawn. Nothing is really jumping out. Can’t really pinpoint the adjunct.

I have no clue. I liked the PB better, but still a nice stout.

Ah! Coconut. Great to try these new ticks! Thanks Danny!

I got to enjoy my Day 4 from @azuelke while I relaxed after a long day of coaching soccer.

From the amber bottle, plain cap, and plain cork I’m guessing De Garde. Flavor and aroma both were pretty indicative of something spontaneously fermented, but I don’t know enough about DG to guess the beer.

Damn, I’m good at this guessing stuff!

    Day 4 from @vitaminvert...
White wax stamped with WeldWerks. I knew this had to be another Noche. Once again it poured like motor oil but with aromas of chocolate frosted cake and lots of whiskey...a great combo BTW. I got lots of vanilla too and even what seemed like coconut. Good god this was either Rye Vanilla or Coconut Medianoche, both beers on my UT wishlist!

Rye Vanilla Medianoche!!! This beer was amazing. Thanks for sharing, Andrew! I can't wait for tomrrow!!!

    Day 4 from @MTKATL

Pour was dark purple nose is berries and a touch of barnyard funk.

On the palate raspberry dominates the front end definitely some tannic wine notes and a touch of acidity and a touch of backend bitterness. This is a well balanced jammy awa no idea what it could be but I'm digging it.

Creature Comforts Fauxjolias.. this beer was not on my radar at all but it should have been. A blend sour with black raspberries and black currants aged in wine barrels. Yum!

    Cheers @MTKATL !!!
