    FedEx is so damn weird...

I have two packages on their way, one originally set to land yesterday, the other tomorrow. We got hit with nearly a foot of snow yesterday, yet it took until after midnight for them to update my tracking with an exception that they were not coming with yesterday's box; I knew it wasn't coming all along because it never made it to "On Truck for Delivery", but their expected delivery date was the 5th all day long.

Meanwhile, the box I have that was expected tomorrow now shows as being expected today, yet its last location was in Maryland, and it does not say "On Truck for Delivery", so I'm pretty confident I'll see it tomorrow, but know there's no way it's coming today.

GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER FEDEX. [/rant]

check out http://www.fedex.com/us/servicealerts/ -- there are a couple of different things going on

that being said, a package that was sent to me Tuesday afternoon from a warmer climate has been delivered on schedule as of about half an hour ago

Don't get me wrong, I completely understand that there are delays and why. My boxes will land when they land, I'm not upset about that.

I just hate their tracking system and that it can be past noon with a package still not "on truck for delivery" but has that day as the expected delivery day. Everyone but the system itself knows that if it isn't on the delivery truck it isn't coming that day.

That is the perfect address Dave. That address is the one that insures I will not get any nasty text messages! I will definetly be posting the #VBS this weekend. Thanks so much!

I live with my grandparents in the months they aren't in Florida. During the 12 days of xmas bif they were like ... what are all these boxes. Now they are amused by what I get in the mail.

Your BBQ is certainly not bad however I think you do better with the Steer rather than the Pig. Leave the Pig to VA, NC, TN, and KS/MO..That being said the burnt ends in Mex-as are delightful.

I know in NH we have an annual "Rock'n Ribfest" at, of all places, the ABinbev plant grounds in Merrimack. A bunch of places from all over bring their best. This is basically a BBQ import because admittedly New England's BBQ scene isn't all that great. People rave about the food a Prohibition Pig in Waterbury, VT but I think it's pretty mediocre.

Probably the most impressive place I've been around here is BT's Smokehouse in Sturbridge, MA. Doesn't hurt that it's right near Treehouse and it's BYOB.

I do as well, but I don't overwrite blocks previously cleared with a hint. So if I mess up a hint I just need to undo the X's, leave the other hints, and then check the newly cleared squares to see if a later hint blocked them. The last step is what takes the time.

Ugh, I've just had a box destroyed by FedEx that I shipped to someone. It was in a freaking styro six shipper and they're claiming it was damaged. WTF ?!?! I have a feeling those fucktards stole my beer and are enjoying it as we speak... and now I'm stuck trying to figure things out with my trading partner. First time this has happened to me. This sucks ass. I need a beer.

BBQ is smoked pig, cooked so long the fat melts, the skin is nice and crispy, and the meat pulls apart at the touch. Beef is not BBQ.

Does "damaged" mean it will get returned to you? I can't imagine that they would destroy it...

If it was destroyed/damaged beyond ability to deliver, you have an insurance claim available, right? I don't understand how they can confiscate your property, no matter how damaged, and refuse the insurance claim. Even if they've determined it's alcohol, I don't understand how that makes it no longer your property.

Now, if the problem is that they are irreplaceable bottles, or that their value was more than the insurance will cover, that's another issue. I definitely have started purchasing extra insurance when the value of the contents even approach the $100 they cover for free.

They definitely destroy it, and it sucks. A box I was supposed to receive a long time ago was destroyed, and by that I mean drank by Fed Ex employees.

They are destroying it. I asked them if they could have my trading partner sign for it or if they could ship it back to me, they said no. It contains beer. It's illegal to ship beer. We are destroying it. There is no other option.

I think they're stealing my beer, and there's nothing I can do about it.

    Damn that sucks.

My first BIF, I crammed like 400oz into one box. It made it all the way from Boston to SoCal where it was marked as damanged. I called FedEx and never really got any concrete info. 2 weeks later, a wet box showed up back in Boston, exactly as I had shipped it, missing a 12 oz bottle of shelf beer.
