I'm pretty sure the ladies at my local FedEx store know I ship beer.
I am almost always wearing craft beer related clothing too..

I created fake business cards with an olive oil company and tape those on as well as using it as a company in the label. I also include something like a half box of tic tacs or other rattling noises in mine.

Oh, not much. Just what I believe is now the 3rd person to get the Locals 'branding'. Something that will follow them forever. Oh, he may try to run and hide and change it, but it will now forever define him. He will forever be known by his avatar, the blonde bearded valley girl. Just ask our Enforcer (aka @Mikexw) about that. Sorry for your luck @mklisz. Not srs

Are you not allowed to ship liquid?

This is pretty much it, but here's the more detailed answer:

There's two main concerns with the age of a beer: hoppy character that will fall off, regardless of style/abv; and degradation of the beer itself, primarily through oxidation, which will happen much more slowly in beers >10% ABV than in lower ABV because the alcohol is a preservative (as well as in smoked/sour beers for similar reasons).

So that beer will still be a quality product with age on it, as in it won't have any negative effects from oxidation; however it will be far less hoppy. Whether this is a bad thing is ultimately up to you, however if it was made as a hoppy beer, odds are the brewer intended for it to be drank fresh.

I used to write things like "Kitchen" and "Pantry" on them, as if the recipient was supposed to put things in those rooms. I'm sure it was a complete waste of time. That being said, I have probably shipped close to 30 boxes (2 more tomorrow!) and NEVER been asked anything about the contents.

yes they can. Next time tell them it is liquid, and name something. I either say Dave's Infused Coffee Treats of Dave's Infused Olive Oil decorations. Give them a reason for their being liquid, then they really need a better reason to open.

Aren't you the avatar czar? You originally posted my "facebook picture" in our 200 message 11-participant BM about OP_gate, then I made it my avatar and everybody got all excited. And IIRC, you might have found Russ's centaur too. (although in an avatar tournament I think we both lose to @Littlelotte88 's old avatar)

My first international box, sent through USPS, I was grilled about the contents... after asking if it was liquid, to which I said "yup, homemade marinades" he then proceeded to play 20 questions about why someone in the Netherlands wanted marinades I made. I'm pretty sure he assumed I was lying and wanted to see if he could trip me up, but I can lie pretty damn well, and even gave him a passing invite to my next cookout so he could try them.

This, definitely. This is why I've never understood why people say candles when they can account for liquid sounds instead by saying olive oil or marinades. Personally, I prefer marinades because then there's no way to say that isn't the intended use, whereas the contents are obviously not olive oil.

I am cracking up imaging you going off on a filibuster for about 3 hours explaining what you were shipping, until the guy just gave up and shipped the damn box

As needed, I would. I would actually find it kind of a fun mental exercise to, on the spot, go into detail about the (completely imaginary) homemade marinades that were (not) in the box; ingredients, recipe, cook time, etc. Give out a couple (completely fabricated) tips about how best to use them....

My shop on UPS is a vinegar emporium, they have broken two bottles so far, repacked and sent the remainder and approved my claim!
