    AKA Route #30...

Route 30 is a bus route that stops within half a mile of a number of Twin Cities Breweries. Starting in North Minneapolis it heads East down Broadway (past Boom Island, Dangerous Man, Indeed, 612, Bauhaus, and Sociable Cider Werks)

It then loops north around The Quarry Shopping Center and back to heading east on Broadway (Northgate) continues on Broadway and heads south on Goodwald, it loops back west on Spring, south on Hoover and then goes east on East Hennepin (Insight). Then it jumps south on 280 getting off near University and heads east to University and Vandalia (past Bang! and Urban Growler).

That's ten breweries within half a mile of that one bus route. Nine are open now and the tenth, Insight, is scheduled to open early November 2014. If you add Lake Monster, opening just S of Vandalia and University sometime in 2015, we have 11.

Not as cool as the Light Rail, perhaps, but a whole nother option for a brewery crawl minus the driving. The one thing to be aware of, though, is that route 30 only runs about every 30 minutes and doesn't run on weekends (D'OH!).

I live in the neighborhood and it is a very new route, but I think that it'll become popular when people know how close it is to all of these beer-y destinations.
