Edits and comments must have gotten crossed. Figured it wasn't fair to just leave my picks here without a little explanation...

Ok, having reread the original post, I can see the point. Matching beer names/attributes to your own personality or life values. Fair enough. And it is a beer website. I suppose on a car site it might be " six cars in your garage that would define you". I was grabbed by the thread title which made it sound like you were defining yourself with beer. And I think we should all love and enjoy beer but notttake it so seriously that we "define" ourselves by it. It's only beer.

Huh... that defines me, you say? Not necessarily that I want to drink? OK...

    - Michelob Ultra - because I want to be in better shape, but beer
    - Kirin Namakuro - I love Japan and Japanese culture, and Namakuro has a bit of flavor to it while being Japanese
    - Sam Cherry Wheat - for the times I'm great to be around briefly, but grate on you after a short while
    - ATG The Brown Note - because, uh, I'm a very regular fellow?
    - Sixpoint Bengali - I'm a tiger in the sack. Yeah. Totally.
    - Sam Adams Utopia - because sometimes, God damn it, I'm worth spending an insane amount of money on to have a good time. I work hard. Once in a while, I want to be luxurious and totally opulent.

Didn't include anything that's only available in 22 oz or more. If so there would be a lot of Trillium stuff.

I love the hoppy stuff so I'll narrow it down to these 6:

    1. Stone Ruination (the original)--this is the one that set me on this quest for every hoppy beer there is
    2. CC Tropicalia--one of the 2 locals that's in my fridge most of the time
    3. Orpheus Transmigration of Souls--the other one
    4. Half Acre Daisy Cutter--maybe I didn't need to just be chasing IPA's and DIPA's
    5. Zombie Dust/Pliny/Heady--I count these as (1), as they were the giants that I HAD to try. I can interchange them and they're probably the best beer in the fridge at the time. I don't think that I've had any of them in at the same time.
    6. Carton 077XX--the beer that I've traded the most for. Probably my favorite beer. For now.

Boulevard Tank 7 - the easiest selection of the bunch. A unique and boundary-pushing beer and one that does the "hopped up saison" better than any I can think of. I like other hopped-up saisons. I love Tank 7. Can't wait for it to arrive in Michigan later this month and not have to ask my friends in the Kansas City area to include them as trade extras...

Tree House Julius - also a pretty easy selection. For a long time, I had a hard time declaring any IPA or DIPA my "favorite" in style. There were just too many that I really liked to single out just one. Julius changed that. I'm fairly certain it's my favorite within the style. Yes, it's a huge honking juice bomb, but what makes it so good, to me, is a subtle herbal undertone that complements the juiciness perfectly.

Goose Island Bourbon County Barleywine (non-2015 edition) - I didn't think I liked barleywines. Admittedly, I hadn't been exposed to many, and the one that remains my least favorite--Bigfoot--just turned me off from really exploring the style. BCBBW was randomly tapped at a local bottle shop/taproom one night in 2013 when I was just stopping in to grab a mixed six to take home. I saw it on the menu and ordered it because Bourbon County. When it came to me, I almost stopped the bartender to ask if the menu was wrong--I had ordered a barleywine, not a stout. But not wanting to sound stupid, I decided the Emperor did, indeed, have clothes on. I took a drink and immediately realized that I had received the right thing and that I needed to try a lot more barleywines. Especially barrel-aged ones. I realize it's not typical of the style, but it was my gateway barleywine, and now there are many I love.

Cantillon Kriek - There aren't a lot of sours that come in 12 oz bottles, so this one and it's small-format 375 ml bottles got the nod as the stand-in for all the amazing Belgian sours that I've loved over my lifespan as a beer drinker. Consider it a placeholder for my two favorite sours of all time: Fou' Foune and Hommage. Plus, the color makes it look like you're drinking melted-down cinnamon candies.

Orval - Everyone needs a little weird in their life. Orval is mine. So versatile and a standard bearer for beer as a living beverage. It's classic, yet innovative. And it's always available.

Founders Imperial Stout - no mix six would be complete without a bottle of motor oil to stick to your bones and warm you up through the cold winter. This is the stout that imparts what a non-barrel aged stout is capable of. Roasty and charred, slightly sweet, smooth and robust. It might be Founders best beer that doesn't have a fancy acronym (even though it does have a fancy acronym).

Tree House Alter Ego - or whatever IPA they can that week. I'd say any Trillium IPA could be in this slot too.

Guinness - Go to when no good craft is available, consumed MANY in my 20/30's and I guess in my 40's too.

    Corona Light - Beach/Boat/Summer Beer.

Long Trail Ale - The beer that got me into craft and still a nice solid go to.

Jack's Abbey Hopponious Union - Go to local IPL that is fresh everywhere near me and the best craft option at my local.

Sam Winter - Sentimental a beer I enjoy each year with my Dad.

These may not be my 6 favorite beers but I can gaurentee that anyone close to me would know to order one of these for me or bring them to my house if they are visiting.
