The new Backlash DIPA: Catalyst.

Is this supposed to be a Pliny-like beer? I had a sample of Salute at ACBF that was much better than the draft pour I had of the 1st batch. Looking forward to Catalyst.

 

Had a taste at Redstone Liquors in Stoneham. They are the first store in Mass to get it in. They might still have a few bottles left.

 

I just grabbed a bottle at Redstone but I didn't see anymore laying around

 

Was it good?

 

Yeah, not out of this world. But definitely a solid DIPA. The grapefruit from the amarillo is definitely the backbone of this brew.

 

I tried some and picked up a bottle, too. Thought it was solid, but a little warm by the time I got to it. Just finished my last Salute last week. Had I known this event was happening, I would have held it and compared them. Have a feeling I'm really going to enjoy it.

 

Redstone just posted on facebook that they got more bottles in if people are looking. I stilln haven't gotten a chance to try my bottle

 

Really liked it. Could drink it all day.

 

did you have salute? how do they compare would you say? less like, "which one's better?" and more "what are the differences?"

salute impressed me quite a bit.

What's the price and what's that yellow blob thing on the label?

 

Not sure of the price around me because I haven't gotten one yet. The "yellow blob" is their bulldog Stout.

 

I think I paid $8.50 or so at Redstone. And as someone pointed out, that is a picture of the owner's bulldog, after a Photoshop makeover.
