Yep, really enjoyed it, but then Depth Charged was one of my top beers last year. Also, Midnight Brunch was maybe 15-20% better than Depth Charged, but about 500% as expensive.

Do you actually get the maple / bourbon? Or is it just a coffee bomb?

I'd say the dominant flavor was definitely just Depth Charged; I wouldn't really quite describe that as a coffee bomb, but the espresso character definitely shines through in MB. Any maple I got could just as well have been the power of suggestion. I did get bourbon, but it was in the background. If anything, for such an aggressive, gnarly base beer, I guess everything just played a little too nice together. That said, I'm still considering buying more, cuz I did really like it. Full review here.

Drinking MB right now and its a grassy bomb. I'm not sure whether the grassiness is coming from hops or espresso or barrel or all of the above, but it's a bit too much for me. I did finish the bottle, but I'm sure it's because of the price tag than anything else. If that grassiness wasn't there, that bourbon, maple finish would've been real nice. If you're a hophead (@neurobot01 ?) I'd imagine you enjoying this. Not my cup of tea.

Just heard from another thread that WF Laguna Niguel has Sixpoint brews. Anyone else in OC spot Sixpoint cans? Just curious.

6 pack of Resin at WFHB. They also had 3 others. Resin is tasting really good.

IIRC Sixpoint does a best by date 6-12 months out? Are the cans fresh?

Not sure if it's a year out. But date says Oct 2016. Taste is very clean and fresh.

I picked up a pack of this along with High-Res and C.R.E.A.M. I prefer Resin over Hi-Res due to the fact that Hi-Res is a tad malty and sweet (I'd get it again don't get me wrong.) C.R.E.A.M. is a good substitute for Naughty Sauce for the times that I desire it but can't make it to Noble. Real good stuff IMO.

I also picked up a Hi Res from WFLN and thought it was pretty good! The Sixpoint 12oz cans don't even look like beer; the cashier thought it was Red Bull..

Speaking of Sixpoint, now that we are in their distribution footprint, it sounds like we may be seeing their new haaaaaaaazy IPA as a shelf turd in May... it's Resin, but unfiltered and dosed with six-hop dry hopping...

I asked and they confirmed its getting CA distribution. Its a new beer, so I doubt its gonna be a shelf turd. But who knows.

WF HB and LN are the only ones I've heard of getting them so far. Liquor Landmark in HB apparently got some in about a week or so ago.

I am going to check to see if Provision's Market in Orange carries them if I have time over the weekend. I'll also swing by Mr. K's in Placentia since I need to swing by the Bruery anyway.

    Any recommendations for

    Ninkasi Ground Control
    Founders Project Pam
    Founders RIS
    Black Xantus

Guessing this is the order of their bottling dates, newest to oldest
