The vanilla is great.

 

The firkin of the dry hopped double black IPA is out, I am going to skip it.

The firkin isn't a double black IPA. It's the Black IPA that is double-dry-hopped, meaning it was dry hopped in the fermentor and then again in the firkin.

 

The specialty class brews are IPA centric. That's what I'm referring to. I can go into Founders and get the oatmeal or milk stout, whenever I want, and even now, I can go to several stores and the brewery itself to get the imperial or breakfast. In the past, the specialty brews have BA imperial, CBS, KBS, or other high quality rate stouts. The Black Party should have an equal account of rare stouts, not just mostly rare IPAs.

 

Also,I think it should be more focused on stouts, but that's my personal opinion. When I think of black beer,I certainly don't think of IPAs.

I focus on the specialty beers at an event like this and 4 of the 5 are IPAs. Plus the firkin that just tapped is a double IPA. There is certainly some really good beer on tap. It just doesn't hit the level of past years for my taste.

I agree that there are some IPAs on but 4 of 5 is not true. Also, CBS and KBS, amongst others will be on later today. If you chat up a bartender you can find this stuff out.

The double dry hopped black ipa is still going and it is excellent. I keep waiting for that Canadian flag to show up though.

 

What's the crowd like there? Is there a line?

 

Can you chat up a bartender and find out what the next backstage series release is?
