    Too much Rob Dyrdek will make you soft...

    I kid, I kid.

    All jokes aside, agreed on Oracle teetering the Barleywine territory. I didn't find it too hot but rather too malty.

    OP - Put me on team Hopslam.

    Im an Oracle guy as well. Hopslam is fantastic, but The Oracle is just a tad better. Its like a double Two-Hearted to me (which works out in every glorious way).

    Black Note is one of the few BA stouts thats better than KBS.

    I've been drinking Oracle all night tonight, and it has been awhile since I've had a Hopslam. So, what have you done for me lately? Oracle has done so much more. :slight_smile:

    Have to mostly agree. It's not quite to the level of hopslam but I don't know. It's in the discussion.

    Oracle is bitter as all hell, not too malty. I had one before a Zombie Dust and it made it taste like water

    Too Malty.

    Any time you have a triple IPA before any IPA or "Pale Ale" (Zombie Dust) it will make it taste like water...no surprise here.

    it wasn't a barleywine, it was super bitter

    I never said Oracle was a barleywine...and Barleywines can also be super bitter. Green Flash's Barleywine would be a good example.

    IMO, or should I say..."for my preference" any DIPA over 10% such as Oracle should have a strong bitterness to it. I didn't find it off-puttingly bitter.

    Let's just agree that our palates are not aligned when it comes to hops.

    Cheers!

    I am as much of a hop head as any. perhaps your sample was not fresh. I have had older oracle on draft and it didn't wow me with bitterness. Believe me it is a bitter beer and I am an experience hop head who has tried many hoppy beers. It is certainly more bitter than hopslam.

    I don't really like either, but if I had to choose, Oracle is better.

    I would rather have Hopslam than The Oracle.

    Cheers!

    Now that I've had both fresh, I say

    Hopslam = Winter
    Oracle = Summer

    Both are seriously delicious brews :grinning:
