Well, a good chiunk of the Pigs were updated and were/are nice. There's a couple that didn't get the facelift though. Not sure if all of the dated Pigs are getting left behind, but I know of one that is. I'm guessing the strategy for Buzzy, was to make a lot of money, which it seems he's doing. I guess he's gotta pay the bills for his house on the Battery.

You can't be serious. 150 beers on tap, really?

We have had two PigWigs close here in Columbia in the past few months, I can't say I am sorry to see them go; they sucked.

I don't think the Kroger acquisition is finalized. This is HT acting on their own I believe. There is significant shareholder backlash on the Kroger purchase because they don't feel that HT was given enough of a premium for the purchase.

I just left the NBPW. So sad. Everyone is doing a great job putting on the positive face, but you can tell that they're heartbroken. As am I. I love, love my boys at CBX, but I'm 1/2 mile from the Pig and can get a lot of the same stuff without the foray into downtown.
I took Richard and Karen a bottle of Boy King. I hope that helps ease the pain, but doubtful.

I'll keep an eye out to see if they have any sales and let y'all know (after I get what I want, of course!) I'm pretty sure that they'll have to get rid of the kegged stuff.

I sure thought they were spared. Sucks.

I stopped by the Maybank Hwy Pig several times over the last few years when I was in the area. Last time, I got growlers of Even More Jesus and Mexican Cake. I can't think of another grocery store I've been to that could offer that sort of selection. Hopefully Harris Teeter won't destroy the beer section at that location, but I'm not hopeful.

I've been told that H-T isn't interested and they are going to shut the beer section (as we know it) down and dismantle Frankenstein. Bastards.

Not sure about the fate that awaits Frankenstein II at the NB Pig.

Yeah, the Pig on Maybank was reaching near 200, but I guess it never happened. I got to see the set up too, really cool. There was a universal floating tap handle, that had a cleaning line attached to it. After each growler fill, the lines got flushed. It was like the Mother Brain of beer.

Man this blow if HT doesn't keep the awesome beer selection. I know it would be a pain since they have differsnt reps but damn it.

I know that HT is interested in growlers once the new N.C. standards get in place. I'm sure they'll go by the numbers.

I stopped in the Maybank Pig to get a Growler of Citrus Ninja today. One of the managers mentioned that HT would be keeping a growler station but did not have any details on that location. He speculated that they would probably have 4-6 taps.

It looks like Moncks Corner, Hollywood, and the Otranto Pig (North Charleston) will be the only stores left in the Charleston area.

Any idea on when they are transitioning the store? I might be in the area next weekend.

I was in there Saturday, their bottle selection was depleted already. They had some bombers left and some 6 packs though. Wish I could get there too. Working two jobs sucks.

Growlers are not 50% off, but bottles are.

Was just told by a friend that's there, it's a madhouse. Also, the distributors came in last night and pulled off what they didn't want discounted.

Here's my haul from Piggly Wiggly #14. A good friend went and picked me up a few things. Stood in line for 2 1/2 hours. I noticed the Sculpin bottles were a bit old, but I wasn't going to complain. Everything was 50% off.

    Good for you, JI!

I stopped by NBPW (no idea of their numbering system (I assume 14 is James Island)) today and picked up about 10 growlers and a four-pack of Double Trouble. Everything there is only 25%, but the joint was packed. Plenty of Westbrook and other stuff there as of this afternoon.
