Batch19 does not taste like Bud. It's not even debatable

It's fun to watch the cool kids bash on a product simply because it's made by coors.

Who cares? Oh, wait. You do. The last time I had a Bud was around 20 years ago, so its taste profile has faded. All I remember is I didnt like it. In comparison to what I drink now, Batch19 also sucks and brings back bad memories of Bud, Keystone, etc. from my college days. I'd say Batch19 tates like shit, but Ive never tasted that. Though I suspect you have and would want to debate it.

I liked it, and will probably buy more now that I see the price dropping at the grocery store $7.50 a sixer. There are times that a nice COLD AAL straight from the bottle is good.

“ …price dropping at the grocery store $7.50 a sixer” Well that is a change in the right direction but still too costly for me (for that beer).

At my local beer store they are selling Batch 19 for 10 bucks a six-pack. I can obtain a six-pack of quality craft beer (e.g., Victory) for that price. It is a no brainer for me to just say no to buying Batch 19 at those prices. If I want a AAL beer I would buy Yuengling Lager for 6 bucks a six-pack.

    Cheers!

Would rather have Full Sail Session Lager for $6 a 6 pack then Batch 19 which costs a few dollars more or Anchor California Lager for the same price. I know different styles AAL vs APL, Batch 19 is better then most AAL I'll give it that, but still would rather have a tastier Pale Lager.

Guys the point isn't if it does or doesn't taste good. They're capitalizing on a market they weren't a part of creating nor expanding. They hired a bunch of marketing gurus to portray it as a craft beer, which it isn't.

The bar I manage got a free keg from a distributor and I reluctantly put it on tap. I can't tell you how many people order it because they think its a craft beer, and when they ask me who makes it, I tell them shamelessly that its a Coors product. They almost immediately send it back or ask for a substitute. Its not about taste in this case, its the principle of the matter.

I get that, since I first saw it on buffalo wild wings website and it was listed as their featured "craft" beer. I looked it up since I hadn't heard of it and was disappointed at the marketing gimmick just like when I tried to figure out what redbridge and third shift were.

On another note at least in California I've been seeing new commercials for Third Shift, Leinenkugel's, killian's, and Henry Weinhards. None of these were marketed here until several months ago, seems like there is a big push to make all the non directly related BMC beers look like craft beer. They also sneak them into the craft section of all the grocery stores.

Ya, I'd buy the Yeungling too, but not available here. I do have Full Sail Session available at about $11/a twelve, so Batch 19 is a tad high. But what the heck, I don't go for AALs very much at all anyway (Hot days here are few and far between) So I'll pick it up when the conditions are right. Thanks for all the great info on CAPs! Cheers!

Batch 19 is the best. When comparing to Black Crown, Third Shift and Becks Sapphire. Sort of what I view the "competition" for those beers.

    GI IPA anyday though

I remember buying this when it first hit shelves in WI. I had no idea what it was or who made it, it just looked interesting. All I remember about it is that I told myself I wouldn't buy it again. Nothing memorable for me.

People have been asking me about this in the store I work for a while now... I used to play dumb until people started to try to special order it. Now I just suggest Rolling Rock and tell them it is the same thing. I really don't try to be condescending but sometimes it's beyond my capabilities.

I read this thread and went out and bought a bottle of Batch 19.

It was quite disappointing. It still tasted metallic and corn-y.

These were my thoughts exactly. I had several of them as they were on special at a bro bar I went to for my friends birthday. Tasted pretty much like any other cheap macro I have had, though it was a little fuller bodied and sweeter, with a bit less carbonation. I was pretty sure at first sight this was a faux craft beer, I have seen a lot of these lately and they all have this weird fake feeling to their labels and packaging.
