I don't know, man... I see what you're trying to get at, but this is a little like asking what song I think best represents all music as a whole...

I'll go old school; I think of Hofbrau Original Lager on draft.

I can never pass this stuff up. I don't know if it is the incredible smoothness and drinkability or if it's just in my German ancestry, it just goes down perfect every time. For example, this past weekend there was a "Nightmare Before Christmas" tapping event of primarily dark, imperial beers. After about 8 half pours of dark beers, I saw this on tap and immediately ordered it to give my palate an imperial break. Hit the spot perfectly and paired well with the free chips and salsa from the restaurant next door.

I rarely ever drink it anymore, but Sam Adams Boston Lager is what comes to mind for beer without leaning to heavily in one direction or another. Just a good basic beer

That is a really tough question. Honestly American Pilsner is the first thing that comes to mind, unfortunately thats probably because of growing up with the notion that it was the only style available. With my currant mindset I might have to say something like a Belgian Pale, maybe Duvel or Orval. Orval especially because it encompasses so many charecteristics.

Probably an English ale, as those are the beers I started drinking back before craft beer became such a domestic pastime. So maybe Boddington's?

Another vote for American macro lager (or "American Pilsner" if you like). I think that's just what I'll always associate with beer. Most of the world's beers are pretty close to it after all.

    Style(s): IPA or Pale Ale
Beer(s): If given a particular style I could pick one, but first thing that comes to mind every time would be difficult.
