So the whale hunter flop house scheme is back on? If it's no longer looked down apon, I'd like to buy into this....

Just an abbreviated way for me to convey "mass produced, cheap, and readily available" and "extremely limited releases at higher price points with generally higher ratings, although on a much smaller sample size of reviews."

Exactly what is narcissistic about saying other people are being elitist about only drinking certain types of beer? I'll probably drink a 6-pack of Sam Adams this weekend, yet I don't feel the urge to call someone drinking a CCK stupid for going out of their way to acquire it.

It's all relative I guess. You know what they say about the one-eyed man in the land of the blind. I tend to think that we're all a bit extreme. I've got over two thousand posts here... and it's a forum about food. Since I'm not in the business, I think it's pretty much extreme behavior.

As long as you get that there is 'better' beer in both categories.

My goal here is to find them myself, as well as help others do the same.

What bothers me is people like you and your snobbish behavior directed at people for what snobbery they choose to be snobs about. This is fun. We can go on all day like this.

I get what the OP is trying to relay. I have said "reverse beer snobbery" things before but the instances are few and far between. Sometimes I mean it and sometimes it is sour grapes. I also agree with @JayORear. People talk shit to blow off steam.
Having said all that...I don't think beer snobbery is dead. Hill Farmstead beers will get more likes on WBAYDN tonight than most folks go-to local pale ale.

I stood up and applauded at my computer at work seeing this. Unfortunately people looked at me like I had a severe mental disorder.

Really, I had no idea it was this serious beer is not life....... I won't die if my cellar was emptied out over night okay but I would be pissed off to the highest level of pisstivity. LOL

This is cyber-space rude to down right ignorant responses are expected read the commit section of damn near anything on youtube.com and its very apparent the false sense of cyber anonymity gives folks the verbal freedom they would never use in real life. Sometimes I'll bite just for the fun of and go to right wing or left wing web-sites and take up the counter opinion and wait for the fish to take the bait and have a grand old time. Basically I do not care what folks say or think about me in my daily life why the hell would I care about anyone in cyber-space verbal rhetoric. ENJOY THE BEER YOUR MONEY AFFORDS YOU TO DRINK!!! just my 2 cents.

It's not serious at all! It's just a thing that a lot of hypocrites on here do. In no way is it serious, it's just a thing.

Freaking hilarious. Now all I can picture is said character exhibiting described anti-expression while reading that post. Worse yet, I have to somehow explain to my wife why I am laughing like an idiot but don't even know where to start

Some people go all out in this hobby traveling the country and the globe acquiring and drinking said liquid. Some people are content with what they can pick up on their way home from work every day with minimal effort. 99% of BA's fall somewhere in between. In the end it's just our personal choice of liquid in inebriation.

Who the hell cares. Drink your beer.

Excellent points made. "who will mill the flour?" "Not I." "Ah, but who will eat the bread?... Not You." What was that children's story? You get the point.

I think people usually just say that about beers they think (or know) are overrated or over-hyped. I could name some beers I've drainpoured that people would hate me for. And I sometimes voice that on here. But I don't do that out of some defensive self-righteousness. It's important for the forum (and craft beer) that people voice that, so others can judge that opinion for themselves and see if that person was just drunk or has a good point. If someone's being a self-righteous prick, just ignore them. They're a snob. And if someone's truly being an anti-prick, why should you or I care? I love it when people use bias to decide what they buy. That's one less person who might take my good beer!

another useless "beer advocate" thread. nice job OP.

sorry you're all butthurt that someone is calling you out for being a custy for paying $15 for a 6 of sculpin.

there are good deals and there are bad deals. for some things you REALLY get what you pay for. YEAH, that mac book pro is gonna run you twice as much as a "comparable" windows PC, but it is gonna work flawlessy for twice as long with half the bullshit and headaches.

Beer and Wine is really subjective, some just want a buzz (old English), some want a buzz and a delectable well priced brew (Odell's IPA), some want a buzz, a delectable drink AND a higher pricetag (Sculpin) and some want only what is rare and hard to find to get their BUZZ, (Cantillion, HIll Farmstead etc) .

pick your poison my man. but if you are gonna be out here in the world where us regular folks are happy about our regular old lagunitas and stone, and non-plussed about the un-attainable or insultingly priced stuff (see:sculpin) -- GO SUCK AN EGG>

overpriced ANYTHING is the suck, but OVERPRICED BEER? it's really the worst TBQH.

I disagree with your statement. What may be "healthy judgement" for you doesn't reflect poor judgement on the part of the majority of people on this site that enjoy a fun hobby.
