This is NOT an "official" ISO post, I am just trying to get an idea of how difficult it would be for a local to get some of this.

So, if you are in their distro, is it hard to come by? Have you tried it? ... opinion of it?

    Thanks!

It's not that hard to come by on tap but I don't specifically know about the bottles. I am very close by 2SP and have never gotten the impression that The Russian is a sought after whale. I will stop by after work today and check if they have bottles still in stock.

If your post is implying that someone wants to trade you The Russian at a markup or premium then I would not recommend it. It's worth trying for a fair trade though.

It just won a Gold medal at the GABF in the imperial stout category.

If it's available in bottles I will likely start a post to get a bottle or 2 to *GASP* drink! I enjoy drinking great stouts. Ticking and whale chasing doesn't appeal to me personally.
The GABF article piqued my interest, but I am always looking for good stouts, and BW's. I would never have heard of it had I not read the article, but if I had gone and then read the reviews (which I did) and it didn't sound like my type of stout I wouldn't have pursued it.

I believe they only bottled the BBA version, though I may be wrong. The regular was on tap at the brewery last week for growler fills. Not sure if it is still on.

They did bottle it in March and were selling it at the brewery, but I'm leaning towards them not having bottles left right now. When they did have bottles they lasted, I was able to pick a bottle on two or three different days. I would offer to send a bottle, but I'm down to my last bottle and seeing how it ages. I would think that whoever has bottles for trade won't make it hard to trade for.

    I appreciate all the input!

Hopefully I'll get my hands on some, if not... no big deal.

    Thanks!!

Wouldn't be too hard for a local to grab a 64oz or 32oz growler.
