I've very much enjoyed all of Southern Tier's offering, with one exception. Krampus was positively AWFUL!!! Maybe one of the top ten worst beers I've ever had.

Also to add a point, they're rated 94 as a brewery. So I don't believe they are by any means underrated, but rather undernoted. As in people believe they are solid, however just don't talk that much about them. Maybe they not to take a bigger risk to generate some additional interest.

I really like Mokah and Jahva, Choklat is good but nothing special, and Creme Brulee is good for about 4-6oz... once a year. I made some pancakes with Mokah that were amazing once. But on the whole, you have to question to appeal/longevity of a brewery that gets all its attention from dessert beers, essentially. Can't comment on their regulars, since I have to trade for their stuff.

I've never had a brewery be so polarizing to me.

    Chokolat and 2xIPA were great!
Creme Brulee and Pumking were absolute drainpours of the highest order.

There's not much to talk about with them. They don't really do any limited releases, and their seasonals are plentiful to the point that they sit on shelves almost year round. They also rarely do anything new, and even when they do, it's of minor interest.

They're pretty much just status quo year in and year out. Nothing really wrong with that, it just doesn't lead to fruitful discussion.

I had Jahva at Yardhouse on Saturday. It was above average, but not great. Tons of coffee and the alcohol isn't hidden very well.

I wonder why they don't do any limited release stuff...they must not have gotten the memo about what creates buzz for your brewery.

That's also one thing I loved about Choklat, you would never ever know it was 11%abv.

Yes, I'm a snob, and you have no standards.

    And marginalising is fun.

Choklat is very good and higher rated than Mokah, but personally I love the shit out of Mokah!

Phin & Matt have horrible taste. Please replace that one.

ST is a great brewery. MOST things I've had from them have been well above average, and for some reason they always find a spot in our tap line up. Jahva kickin right now, well received. I don't like it as much as I like Mokah though.

The only one I can think of was their Cuvee Series. I'd love some new stuff from them, though.

Okay folks, no mention of Southern Tier Hop Sun, what a great hoppy wheat beer, my other favorites from them are the Phin and Matt's just a great session ale with flavor from all angles. Their standard IPA when fresh is awesome, and their Harvest Ale drinks like nectar of the beer gods. Do I enjoy the flavors in all of their big beers, of course they are extreme and often times not found in any other beers I've ever tried. They're just not beers I want to drink more than 8 ounces of. Choklat is great, but it's dessert for me. Pumpking is liquid circus peanuts, genius. They're best beers though are the beers you want to keep drinking, and the Best beer I've ever had from them was at my first Penn Brewer's fest they brought a sixtel of IS, and I loved every second of it. They made a straight up imperial stout, that actually birthed their Blackwater Series never to be seen or heard of again, and it might have been the best dark beer they've ever put out.

Very solid brewery. I think their standard IPA is one the most balanced available of all US breweries, and I appreciate that. The 2XIPA is a little much for my taste but I understand what they are shooting for there. Oat is an amazing beer, and Pumking is a thing of true beauty. When you find them again in the fall, get 2--one to drink fresh and the other to sit on fer a year. It will blow your mind. Gemini is not that great, unless you like hot hop water (which, if I recall correctly Kerry, um...Hanzo, you do (insert wink-face here)). Some of their standards do leave a bit at home, such as Phin & Matt's. I have a Back Burner that I have yet to try but have high hopes for it.
Yeah, really appreciate this brewery. Wish we could get it here in WV.
