I think it's great that there's a Southern Tier [complete with the cherished "craft" designation from the Brewers Association] around pumping out FMB's for the beer geeks - many of whom are quick to ridicule someone putting a lime wedge in a bottle of Corona, the various macro-brands of shandies or the Four Loko-type malt beverages.

    What are FMB's?

Southern Tier definitely has some quality beers. The Porter and 2xIPA are very good, 2xStout, Iniquity and Gemini are fantastic, and the Blackwater series is phenomenal. Been planning on a going on a ST binge and buying one of everything I can find by them. Come on payday!

Me too, I cracked one open a month ago and it was drinking just fine. I've had Pumking that was aged over a year before and it was tasting almost as good as it was fresh, IMO.

A place near me has a TON of Pumking left. Marked down to $4.99. I've picked up a few, but I may have to grab a case or two. Killer with a 1/4 shot of quality dark rum!

Between the two stores they have, they must have near 10 cases left.

I have been loving some ST lately as well. Recently tried the Iniquity black ale and loved it. The CBX had a limited release of the ST's Oak aged Backburner and I was amazed how great it was. I also had their Hop Sun and it was a very good refreshing summer beer. I wasn't in to their Mokah last year when I tried it. The Phin and Matt's was okay. Overall, I love ST. I need to try the Pumking when it comes out again this fall. I always enjoy their 2XIPA too.

2xipa is a regular for me. Everything else I have tried was nothing great.

    Enjoy

I love Southern Tier. My favorites:

Creme Brulee and Choklat - Two of my favorite stouts.
Pumking - Easily the best pumpkin ale I've ever had.
    Javah - Pretty good.
2X Stout - Delicious milk stout.

Their Mokah didn't appease me really at all, which is strange because I love their Choklat and their Javah, but when they combined them it became a bit of a muddled/unbalanced mess. I don't know if I got a bad bottle or what, considering it's rating here. I don't think I've ever tried the Oat, I need to fix that. I have their Hop Sun in my fridge now waiting to be consumed.
