    Hey guys,

Staying here over Halloween weekend. Anyone been here? Hoping it's not a far drive to some good bars. Looks like the sell HT as well. Wonder if can purchase or a drink at the bar deal only dear.

    Thanks,
    Smitty

It's a bar not a retail store. Doubt they would ever sell it. I would feel weird asking.

Yea a couple people gave me weird looks and outright told me "No" when I asked them if I could take an empty can of Focal Banger home as a souvenir. If it's a bar it would be on-site consumption only.

You could easily walk to either Grazers, downtown opposite the church, or to Crop Bistro, up Mountain Road a bit.

    Prosit!!

Yeah was just curious as I am not familiar with VT state laws as there are many states where buying beer to take home from a bar is common.

    Thanks for the recommendations Beirman9!

I did a murder mystery dinner type thing as a team building thing once with a company. It actually turned out to be quite entertaining! But it was also part of a big city theater group that put it on ha. One or two people from the company I worked for were in on the plot that we didnt know about. Imagine a bunch of IT people watching this ha

Doc Ponds gastropub at bottom of Mountain Rd. is rocking a great taplist and affordable food. The Bench farther up is owned by Waterbury's Reservoir people, with foods all cooked wood-fired style and as good a taplist as in Waterbury. The Bench Burger is a thing of beauty!

I had dinner at the Bench on Friday evening and it was indeed a fine meal accompanied by several lovely brews (more than I'd typically drink, but I figured I'd better take advantage of the location) by HF and the Alchemist.

From where do you get your information? Heady Topper is only available on tap at The Hen of the Wood in Waterbury.
To OP: Doc Ponds, just go. It is run by The Hen of the Wood people.

The trip was a success! Doc Ponds, The Bench, Crop, Pro Pig, the Res, and on and on. All great places with great food and beer.

Thanks everyone! Can't wait to go back.
