Pueblo Vida would be my top pick. They seem to do releases every 2-3 weeks or so, so availability may depend on that. Borderlands has a nice one and does crowlers (they can but don't can the IPA...I think). You may be able to find Tombstone Brewing NEIPA cans around town at bottle shops; nice stuff for sure.

That said, I'd also kindly suggest that you make sure to hit Dragoon. You won't find NEIPAs, but you will find delicious beer.

I’ll be heading back to Tucson the second weekend of February (Sat-Mon). Flying in and renting a car. Staying downtown. Our last visit was 2 years ago. I thought the beer scene was good then. I’m sure it’s gotten even better in the last 2 years. 3 years ago we stopped in Dragoon. Last year we just didn’t have enough time with all the places to hit in the downtown area. Reading @CharacterZero post here it looks like a few more places have opened up since our last visit. My visit to Tucson is for a concert Sunday night and hopefully Saturday night. So I probably won’t have enough time for a lot of beer stops if I can score a concert ticket for Saturday night. Is Dragoon a must stop after a 3 year hiatus? Or skip it and check out all the new digs in the downtown area? And which ones are a must stop in the downtown area?

Also would be interesting to try some hazy or NE style from Tucson. But I still prefer the West Coast or regular IPAs.
I would also like to bring back some cans and or crowlers.

I would hit up Pueblo Vida and keep your fingers crossed they have some cans. They do Crowlers otherwise. I would hit Dragoon if there's time and go to Bottles and Tap and pick up some Tombstone cans. I'd say go to Tombstone brewery buts it's too far away. If you ever go Monkish in Torrence Ca let me know and we can do a trade. Enjoy!

Tap and Bottle downtown is having a 'Hazed and Infuzed' IPA event on Saturday, Feb. 10th.

    From their FB Page -

Celebrating all hazy, juicy and hoppy IPAs all day at T&B Downtown!
Featuring hazed and infused IPAs from:
    Pueblo Vida
    Borderlands
    12 West
    Tombstone
    Arizona Wilderness
    And more...!

AZ beer week is Feb. 8-17th so there will be other events going on around that time.

Just had my first offering from Crooked Tooth brewing. Wiracoccha (spelling?). An imperial porter I'd compare to Stone's Xocoveza. I was really impressed with this ale, it was great. I am thrilled with the quality of the beers being brewed in Tucson!

Was this the downtown location? I was wondering if the downtown location has crowlers to go? Their websites only mentions growler fills. Also the bottles/cans for purchase is consume their only or can I take to go?

I thought I read somewhere that Dragoon is have a tap takeover someplace in downtown Tucson for AZ Beer Week? I would like to hit up Dragoon while our short visit there but I don't think that will happen this year. Staying downtown with no car. I could Uber it there and back, but not sure if it's worth the time. I'll be at a concert Sat & Sun night (downtown area). We'll be there half day Sat and all day Sun. Flying out early Mon am. My last visit to Dragoon was 3 years ago. I'm sure lot have changed since then.

I only hit the downtown Tap & bottle and yep they had crowlers to go. As for dragoon Im sure you can find most of their offerings on tap downtown.

Popped into Tucson last night. I’ll be in downtown in a couple of hours. Planning to hit Tap&Bottle DT for the Hazed and Infused event. Question > The bottles/cans at T&B are for consumption inside T&B only? Or can I take to go? If only inside, is there a bottle shop I can purchase to go? Thx.

    Edit: Downtown locations.

Back home this morning from our Tucson R&R/Concert weekend. Places that we visited > Pueblo Vida (Nebulous), Crooked Tooth, Tap & Bottles(x2), Ermanos, Street Tacos/Beer, El Charro, HUB, Congress TapRoom. Dragoon IPA was all over the downtown area. I may have left another place out. And all this before concerts Sat and Sun evening.

This is a great thread for someone coming into town for only the 3rd time since graduating from UA in 2001! I'll be there for a family reunion, so will likely only be able to squeeze in one or two spots. I saw that Pueblo Vida released some cans and would love to grab some. I get in town Thursday, how quickly do they sell out usually?

Lately cans have been lasting easy through the weekend and often a couple weeks. Check their Instagram page - they’re usually pretty good about posting updates on case counts/availability a couple times a week.

Thanks for the info! Yeah I'm following them on Instagram in case they post a can update. I'm aiming to get there Wednesday on my way into town from Phoenix, or Thursday. Hope they have some left!

I had no idea Tucson had such a cool little craft beer scene in the 6th-4th-downtown area. I was able to pick up a bunch of cans today. Fields, Baseflow, and Embers from Pueblo Vida, DDH Toole from Borderlands, and Double IPA from Tombstone.

I've only had the Pueblo Vida beers so far, but that Embers was my favorite. Great pillowy mouthfeel, low bitterness, great flavors. Baseflow I thought was pretty solid. Fields is ok - dank as fuck.

Looking forward to trying the others!

I picked up Fields last week and really enjoyed it. Baseflow was nice as well but I just had a pint.

If anyone is interested, we're releasing Canadian Tuxedo (our Belgian Tripel) in cans for the first time tomorrow at the taproom. This will be our biggest and best batch to date!

For those that can't make it this weekend, there will be a release event at Tap & Bottle downtown next Thursday as well. Hope to see some of you guys there.

Howdy Tucson. First time down here and I know of Tap and Bottle but do they sell singles of Pueblo Vida? I'd like to buy some but the beer budget cant afford 3 $20 4packs unfortunately. Am I barking up the wrong tree? Any help would be appreciated.
