The 'usual' suspects around here will include Sam Adams as well as Sam Seasonal, so there's at least one rotating tap in the bunch.

I will ad my 2 cents even tho I'm still relatively new into true craft beer per se. (used to think sam was fancy in college!) I run a successful restaurant in WV, specializing in burritos/wraps and a focus on craft beer. We have 20 taps available and it's up to me to fill them. The only BMC we have is Bud Light. 9 of our taps are local (brewed within WV), some overlap but most are unique to the nanobrewery/brewpup they're from and we do everything we possibly can to support them in any way possible. The rest are filled different options from various distributors. Unfortunately being in WV, most breweries forget we exist, so I am very limited as to what is available. The one distributor has Rogue but pretty much the ONLY Rogue they get is Hazelnut and Dead Guy to give everyone an idea as to what kind of distributors are here.

With that being said, I think sometimes that people need to remember that just because Awesome brewery A is right next door (Think Victory in PA in comparison to WV), doesn't mean they're gaurenteed to get any good beer. The distro who handles Goose Island is flat out saying they will NOT get any of the Sisters besides Sofie and Matilda (only bottles at that). So remember that sometimes if a spot that looks as if it may or could have a decent beer selection, that it may not entirely be their fault for not having anything better than BMC or maybe SNPA if lucky.

Also will add that we do everything we can to keep kegs moving and fresh but sometimes, they just don't sell or move well, or sometimes we have to get a 1/2bbl when all we really want/need is a 1/6 so it may take a little longer to move.

Basically "chain restaurant"= mainstream beer. I'm sure that's not 100%, but why should these "movers and shakers" rock the boat? They sell shitloads of beer and they're looking at tomorrow's proceeds yesterday. That's why we need to thank our lucky stars for those that provide us with havens and harbors of good beer and food right in our neighborhoods. These are not chain places, they are neighbors and entrepreneurs that put out a good product while putting their heart and life into their business. I expect nothing from national chains and can do nothing more than to sing the praises of the great food and beer places I'm fortunate to have neaby, and to give them my business.

Cheers to you for doing your best to serve craft beer.

There is a saying that the journey of a thousand miles starts with the first step. You are making that first step (plus others).

    Cheers!

Good point, perhaps I am a little too skeptical. It just feels crazy to even consider that some kind of casual dining chain is going to rotate half of their taps on a weekly basis. I've ordered a Berkshire Steel Rail from an Uno's this summer and was quite happy to have it.
