The Veil Brewing (2020)

Did you sleep in? I still have not yet ordered any of the Anniv releases but casually check to see how long they are lasting. When I looked at 8:05 in NFK they were still showing.

Personally, though, it's probably good you didn't get them. I snagged cans when it was released in May. The beer was thick, syrupy and had absolutely no head. I split a 4pk with a buddy and glad I only ended up with two. My understanding is the blackout cans are the exact same batch so wouldn't hold out hope it's any better. Probably beer they reserved for draft and since this has stretched out they just opted to can it and try to add more hype to it with a different label.

Quy is an Imperial Stout brewed in the loving memory of our friend Quy Phuoc Pham. If you’re part of the Richmond beer community you’ve felt Quy’s friendship and impact. He was a pillar of the Richmond beer community and we honor his legacy with one of his most beloved styles of beers. 100% of the proceeds go directly to Quy’s family - his wife Suong and his two children My and Vy. This iteration of Quy is aged in Laird’s apple brandy barrels for 26 months then conditioned on Vietnamese coffee, Ugandan vanilla, and triple barrel-aged maple syrup. Exploding with flavors of moist coffee cake, tiramisu, and refined brandy. 13% ABV. ⠀

Tickets to purchase a Quy 500ml (and large format) bottle are available for pickup in Richmond starting now (today 7/20 at 9am). These tickets are free and have a date in which you can return to the brewery to purchase your bottle of Quy. A valid I.D. is required for both ticket and bottle pickup. No proxies. Please do not show up to buy Quy any time other than the date on your ticket. Your ticket will have a date ranging from 7/21/20 - 7/25/20. ⠀

Update on the Forest Hill location posted this morning...

We are so excited to share an update for our brand new Forest Hill taproom/restaurant. This two story location will have an indoor/outdoor 2nd floor patio, tons safely spaced indoor seating, and plenty of outdoor seating. We will be debuting a new Mexican inspired food program called Y Tu Mama courtesy of our amazing friends at Pepe's Mexican Restaurant. Our Forest Hill location will also offer guest beers, cider, wine by the bottle, and will have a conveniently located to-go/outdoor service pick-up window.

The entire project will be two separate buildings. One building with be dedicated to our taproom and kitchen operations. The other building will have a lower retail level featuring Charm School Stella's Grocery and Blanchard's Coffee Roasting Co. Above the retail section are two levels of apartments that are available for rent now! Each apartment is designed by the incredibly talented Fultz & Singh Architects with custom, sleek finishes and private balconies.⠀
