More Anniversary details posted...I get what they're trying to do by offering these bundles but seems like it's just overthinking the process and providing too many options.....not that 34 different beers is too many already. HA!

Agree with this sentiment...I was unable to finish my bottle of Banana Fluff...it was sweeter than any AC I’ve had and that’s saying something...

I moved away from the area and accordingly haven’t kept up with The Veil as much since, but I used to patronize them a ton and was curious about their anniversary based on some Insta posts and wanted to learn more... am I missing something, or am I the only one a little confused by aspects of this release?

First, it doesn’t help that theveilbrewing.com/anniversary gives me a 404 error (surely this has to be a mistake on my part right?) and I can’t find any hyperlinked reference to it in the “events” section of the site, or any reference on the main page, etc.

And from what I can gather from Instagram the bundling seems... insane? Various beers are only sold in huuuuge bundles, but they also can’t guarantee that you won’t get duplicated in some case. What? The prices range between $29-$45 for some of the BA stouts, which seems wildly out of line with the market for these beers, right? Do they really sell out right away? Or will we see these at cost-or-below immediately afterwards on the secondary market sold by people trying to recoup costs? Requiring that people get a full allotment of their wild beers (many of which I’ve been a fan of) seems like an insanely transparent cash grab, doesn’t it?... given that they otherwise would likely sit around. And when I hear the term “bundle” I usually think of slightly deflated prices in exchange for buying so much, but that can’t be the case here.

I’m not angry or upset as much as I am confused lol... my apologies if this is one of those topics that gets brought up here way too often (as I know some threads/topics are guilty of).

edit: Veil just got back to my question on Instagram by noting that in fact their Anny site is down because they’re “posting new information at 3pm.” Hardly the biggest deal in the world and I have all the grace in the world for small businesses right now, but this all strikes me as pretty poorly managed lol.

Unless I missed something, you can just buy the wild beers individually or mix n match the ones you want. They do sit around, I think I will just try a few wilds on draft before buying any bottles since they should be there for awhile.

I can't imagine most of the BA beers selling out super quickly, maybe a select few, but I bet most are available for a little while. There are way too many of them for that and it seems like some of the feedback I've seen (anecdotally) is less than thrilled about some of the diabeetus bombs.

I'd speculate from what they said to you that they are re-thinking some of those bundle only bottle details but who knows. Some vocal pastryboi's complained that they couldn't get those by themselves and probably want them all. I know for me, most of those bundle only beers I would avoid.

Re: wild ales -- I think the "top bundle" includes a full allotment of all the wild beers. I could either be totally off base though (based on them taking the site down), or they could be changing it.

And yeah, again... far from outraged here, I likely won't be able to try these anyway, just frankly confused to see this from a brewery so, so very focused on brand management and image.

    卌 IMPORTANT ANNIVERSARY UPDATE!! 卌

Upon new developments in cart security for our online store, feedback from our customers, and other careful considerations we have decided to remove the bundle purchase options for our Fifth Anniversary beer release. One of the primary intents of the bundles was to save customers from the headache of having items in their online cart sell out before they can finish check out. Our online store will now prevent that from happening via an online waiting room for this release. You will know your place in line and have access to the store when it is your turn. Once you are in the store you will have 6 minutes to complete your purchase. Please have your shopping lists ready! All beers and merchandise will be first come first serve with the limits per person still in place.

We apologize for the last minute changes. We feel this is the fairest way to go about releasing these bottles given the circumstances. Thank you so much for your patience and support. Please see theveilbrewing.com/anniversary for and past posts for beer details.

Welp.....Ive been reading through comment in BTV and seems like the process was/is not as smooth as Veil was expecting. Lots of people not happy. Freezing, pausing, lagging, can't check out or complete the order and when they finally do get to check out it says the items in their cart (that were suppose to be cart protected mind you) are no longer available..

When I got spot 1063 with a 30 min wait from the waiting room I know it was a lost cause so didn't bother sticking around for it.

And how Veil is copy & pasting this response on IG..

So that was a complete and total shitshow but I still some how managed to grab everything I wanted. Total time spent refreshing and watching the site crash while checking out was about 50 minutes and I was in the first wave of people in the waiting room.

Yeah, it took awhile but eventually got in and ordered almost everything I set out to get. I had no interest in the waxed bottles so that helps - most of the rest is still available at noon.
