Sorry for a post that has nothing to do with can info and such but I haven't been to Veil/Answer in a while but thinking of doing a double header drive from NoVA tomorrow since I'm off. Where should I park for Veil (and if anyone knows Answer parking rules that would be appreciated too). Last time I went to Veil was my first time and many months ago. Not knowing we couldn't park at the apartments adjacent to them, I accidentally parked there and didn't get a tow, thankfully. but don't wanna risk it this time.

(addresses or street names would help as Ill put them into google maps)

    Thank you

Going to be in southern VA next weekend. Not going to be anywhere near Richmond. Is Veil available outside of the brewery? If so, is it easy to find?

    Thanks

I'm not sure street names but the lot will probably have spaces tomorrow. Usually not that packed on nin release days. Other than that just look for signs. If there is no sign nearby then you should be fine. West Clay St would be a good option if there is nothing down Roseneath.

They very rarely distribute cans. Been a long time since they did send some out. If draft shows up it is likely going to be Esoteric in Va Beach.

Forgot to mention The Answer has a large lot so parking should be absolutely no issue there. Be sure to walk around front to Mekong if you have time. They open around 11 so going for lunch would be a great idea.

Those who like to play the guessing game of what may be released next week I think the recently announced list for Shelton Brothers Fest happening next weekend (Aug 18-19) gives a good indication that Never Know (Pineapple Gose) may be one of the cans. Below is the pour list for the fest.

    VIP: Never Know
    S1: Naissance & Single Brothers
S2: Never Never Forever Forever & IdonteverwantoBU

I just did a quick search - has it really been since November since they did a batch of Idontever? I know they did IdonteverEVER in like March but I think this is the first Idonever in a long time. I knew it was overdue, but I had no idea it had been that long. Here's hoping it's on par with that batch of IdonteverEVER and nothing like the last crystal clear (except for floaters) batch of Idontever!

No approximate case counts on today's update by The Veil but all 3 cans released yesterday are still available today.

I take the lack of case counts as a small slight to out-of-towners. Isnt lowering allotments ample to keep the masses at bay?

You think they want to keep the masses at bay? This is the Veil thread.

    Ha. Preach.

Nevertheless, the "how bout you drive 100 miles and roll the dice" game on remaining quantities wouldn't leave me to believe it.

No empirical data for you, but fwiw people were walking up at 5:30 yesterday with no line, so there is probably plenty of at least the two non-DN beers left.

It is weird though, not including case counts as they always have.

Someone asked on fb, they just replied "We have plenty of all of them" and I think DN made it til about 8:30 last night.

I don't know why they aren't posting that anymore. But if someone said "they just don't wanna take the time to count" I'd believe it.

What's left Thursday Aug 3rd. Again, no word of counts but based on the limits I would guess FHG is probably 30-40 cases at most left and quite a bit of Dusty.

No more case counts I guess. That sucks for those of us who might be traveling in from out of town.

What's left today (Friday) plus the surprise can release of New Sun today. With limits at 1 case either they canned a lot or don't expect people flocking for a Saison. I expect the latter. The first/last can release of this was October and it took them 4 days to sell through 65 cases at 3x/pp

I would really like to know why they aren't announcing cases anymore.

I'd love to see them go eventually to a Trillium release model but I think that would kill a lot of the lines/hype and I doubt they'd want that. Still, today is an example of how they could could be moving in that direction. I think it would make for a better customer experience overall now that they have the capacity to do it.

Future Hypothetical Girlfriend on tap today at Rustico Ballston in Arlington for those NOVA folks. 1/2 barrel from the post. I think Churchkey also tapped it yesterday for their IPA Day event.

I'll be interested to see how next week's release goes and how they start announcing the cans. They could either wait until the last minute to announce or what would be worse is if they announce the cans being released in the days leading up to Tuesday like they have been doing but not releasing any information about counts. It could go one of two ways. Either throngs of people show up not knowing what cans they will leave with and will not be able to determine at what point cans will run out or it will keep people, mainly non-locals, away not wanting to make the trip to RVA without knowing how much they can haul back.

Veil commented on IG yesterday that from now on they'll be posting case counts w/ release announcements on Sundays, then updating with daily limits and when beers sell out going forward. Doesn't sound like they'll be posting remaining cases anymore. Guess that's what we get for not buying all the Snozz and honey...

    Tomorrow's (8/8) release...
    _______________________________
    - Child Support (w/ El Dorado) is our unfiltered 4.5% house hoppy Pilsner. The rad thing about Child Support is that it's single hopped with a rotating hop varietal. This batch we used one of our fave hops as of recent, El Dorado! We are super stoked on how this one turned out.
    Shooting for approx 80-100 cases. $13+tax/4-pack. 1x case/6x 4-packs per person.

    - Master Shredder is our beloved 5.5% IPA. This one is a staff favorite and is super crushable. Probably the most hazy batch of Shredder we've ever released. Standard Master Shredder might not be returning for another month or two, so grab it while you can.
Shooting for approx 200-230 cases. $14+tax/4-pack. 6x 4-packs/1x case per person.

    - Crucial Taunt
    is our 8% house DIPA.
Shooting for approx 195-220 cases. $15+tax/4-pack. 3x 4-packs per person.

    - Coconut Hornswoggler
is our house 7% robust chocolate milk stout Hornswoggler conditioned on hundreds and hundreds of pounds of coconut. Straight up insane! Tastes/smells like a liquid Mounds bar. Because of the huge coconut addition, we didn't get the best yield on this batch. We are ok with that though.
Shooting for approx 105-130 cases. $20+tax/4-pack. 1x 4-pack per person.

We will also be hiding 10x Golden Tokens(seen in front of the can) underneath the 4-pack holders(only on Hornswoggler cans). Find one of these coins and give it to a staff member behind the bar to receive a free Golden Hornswoggler glass(as seen in the picture in this post; the Hornswoggler himself is on the back side of the glass)! This is the ONLY way to get your hands on this glass. We will never sell this glass. It is only acquired if you are the lucky few to find a Golden Token.

    - New Sun(5.6% Saison) There should be a decent amount of cases left from Friday's release. Whatever is left will remain at $12+tax/4-pack, 6x 4-packs/1x case per person limit.
