I think they're still experimenting to determine demand for things like this. But really, who is going to walk out of there with 10 crowlers of Crucial Taunt? Even if you're coming from out of town for the first time loading up on crowlers doesn't make a ton of sense for most folks. The only one that would make sense to me to limit would be New Sun - 15 only, never canned, just came out yesterday. The rest were dropped in cans in the past couple of weeks.

    Edit: or what they said-
    Matthew Shaw Why no limits?

Believe it or not, not a lot of people are interested in buying a ton of crowlers at one time. There may be a few here and there that are picking up crowlers for friends, but most people we will only buy a few. Last time we filled crowlers they lasted into the next day. We are hoping that they will move by the end of Saturday to ensure freshness. We are filling almost 300 crowlers. That's insane amount for us. We highly doubt they will sell out, but want to give people the option to get what they want for the holiday weekend.

right and i can't argue with that. but they don't have a problem moving anything ASAP regardless of limits. seems the only reason they'd to go through the hassle of putting out crowlers on a weekend is to spread the wealth to those that can't get there on the weekend. no limits does less of that

    TUESDAY'S (July 5th) Release

Major Rager is an IPA with a small amount of rice in the grain bill which creates a slight drying finish. We also add a small amount of hibiscus powder to soften the mouthfeel and add a bit of an earthy character. Hopped intensely with all Southern Hemisphere hops:Moteuka, Enigma, Nelson, and a touch of Wakatu. Earthy, dank, fresh lime peel, citrus pith, floral. This is a crisp one if I ever heard of it!

Hornswoggler is our 7% robust chocolate milk stout. Full-bodied, sweet(but not too sweet) milk stout with lactose packed full of dark chocolate and roasted coffee beans(but not acrid) flavor. We will be releasing a bit more cans than last time and there will definitely be a few more golden tokens than last time. The golden tokens will be placed under the 4-pack holder. If you are one of the lucky ones to find a golden token, you can redeem your coin for a limited golden Hornswoggler glass. We will NEVER sell these glasses. The only way to obtain one is to find a golden token. Good luck to all on your search!

Broz Night Out is the imperial version of our low ABV Citra IPA Broz Day Off. Pale malt, a bunch of oats, and hopped exclusively and intensely with 100% Citra hops. Clocking in at 9%, this one is insane! Incredible aromatics of Lychee, tangerine, grapefruit peel, dankness, with an extremely similar flavor profile. Very low bitterness too. Perfect for when it's the Broz Night Out(that even pertains to your ‪#‎ladybroz‬)! This is one of our favorite DIPAs that we've released so far.

Those are some really reasonable limits. Unless the line is like Dirt Nap day crazy, I bet it's like last week where they'll move almost all of it tonight with some leftover for opening tomorrow. I love that last week and this week you can walk out of there with two full cases if you want your total allotment.

Updates on limits and quantity left posted.

    - Major Rager IPA - 116 Cases remain. 12x 4pk (2 cases) limit

    - Broz Night Out - 108 Cases remain. 8x 4pk limit

    - Hornswoggler - 45 Cases remain. 4x 4pk limit. 4 Gold Coins remain

With numbers like this I fully expect Major Rager and Broz to last until at least Friday maybe even into early Sat.

I did not expect to see that much leftover - they didn't move 1/2 of what they had of anything. Definitely looking good for anyone who can't make it there until later in the week, or anyone who's looking to buy 4 cases of Veil beer in one stop.

A friend of mine went last night and said there was basically zero line at 5:30. He was also kind enough to drop me a few cans - both Major Rager and Broz Night are fantastic imho.

^^this is true - right at 5:30 the place cleared out (both the line and the bar) and you could have walked in w/ no wait.

I was surprised at how little they moved as well. Don't get me wrong, selling through 243 cases in 6 hours is still impressive. Maybe those industry folks and those that do not have traditional 9-5 jobs couldn't get off the day after the holiday or took their time Fri and Mon for a long weekend and thus could not make it out as many normally do. Definitely did not see as much buzz on the local fb groups pages like I'm used to reading every Tuesday.

It's definitely interesting to think about what could be at play. This is the first time they've brewed double batches of brand new releases right? That's a lot of new beer without buzz built where something like Idont had been out in cans before they did the double batch. Buying a 4 pack of something I've never had is a gamble I'm willing (as I'm guessing most people are willing) to take, especially from them. But a case of something I've never tried is steep - I get people not buying their limits like they might have with CT and Idont last week. I think my friend got 3 each of the IPAs and 2 stout.

Or maybe the hype is starting to fade a bit already, makes sense with less buzz you saw? It just seems like such a huge difference from Dirt Nap three weeks ago for me to think there's been that much of a decrease in hype in a short time.

It was probably just a less crowd-drawing release for some people that may drive to rva, a repeat milk stout and a ipa with rice and hibiscus may not have moved the general needle like the last few. If they do a more popular type DIPA next week, it will sell faster. Just a guess.

They also did an all-citra DIPA this week though (Broz Night Out).

I really liked the Major Rager, I don't get what the rice does, but it definitely has a very soft mouthfeel. I drank it next to Broz and the mouthfeel was very noticeable. I tried both in line and bought the limit on each.

I agree on MR - mouthfeel was definitely softer and I definitely picked up the hibiscus flavor (and maybe that added to the color?). I was pretty much gaga for Broz - I'm a sucker for a citra bomb like that but I can't think of a better one I've had.
