I do wonder if the crowlers they were planning to fill on Xmas eve will now take a substantial hit on quantity available though. They got absolutely slammed yesterday, and with the two big holidays coming up, my guess is they wanted to clear out some beers by offering crowlers.

As Shilt said, yes. They posted on their fb page along with their holiday hours last week. Definitely a can release on the 27th. No mention of how many cans yet.

Edit: Unless it's a totally "no hype" release of like 2 standard cans, I'd expect it to be as much or a bigger crowd than last night.

I have had a good amount of Trill. Trill is great, but some of their IPAs blend together for me. The best Veil I've had, I've enjoyed more than the best Trill I've had to this point. I do think the Trill beers are cleaner, seem more consistent, often look nicer, and generally hold up better (less floaters etc.). That said, I prefer a lot of Veil's DIPA offerings for their flavor, feel etc. and some Veil beers hold up immaculately (I'll buy as much We Ded Mon as possible next time and go back the next day for more). Veil things like the Idont series stand out to me as awesome and unlike anything else I've had from anyone else. I've only had a couple Treehouse beers at this point, but one was Julius and I thought it was a 5 star/worth every bit of hype beer.

    ~Single Brothers-8.9%-DIPA w/Citra, Mosaic, Simcoe, Amarillo, and Centennial(approx 41 cases; $16+tax/4-pack; 2x 4-packs per person limit)
    ~Crucial Crucial Aunt Aunt-8.4%-double mango double dry-hopped DIPA(approx 46 cases; $18.50+tax/4-pack; 2x 4-packs per person limit)

Hey, Im visiting the area this week. How crazy are veil releases? Is this like treehouse where i should show up an hour early? Will the line be an hour long? Or are they generally chill? Is it possible to come at 7pm and not see much of a crowd?

People usually start showing up at least an hour early. With it being a holiday week it could be more people than normal depending on how many are still off work.

That being said, with Lord Lord Shredder Shredder and Casual Drinks being 200+ cases you will have absolutely not problem showing up at 7pm and leaving with both. Even with the Pilsner (Coalesce) being just under 100 cases I don't see that selling out early. It's just not an exciting style so most people will probably grab a draft pour and/or maybe 1 4pk.

Full details of tomorrow's releases below
    ____________________________________________________

Coalesce is 5.5%, more traditional Czech style Pilsner than our dry-hopped Child Support(hoppy Pilsner). Made with floor malted Bohemian Pilsner malt and traditional German hops and lagered for 6 weeks. Crisp, clean, and wicked easy drinking. Shooting for approx 75-95 cases. $12+tax/4-pack. 4x 4-packs per person.

Lord Lord Shredder Shredder is the 6.1% double blood orange double dry-hopped version of our beloved Master Shredder IPA. Cray cray fo' sho! Shooting for approx 215-230 cases. $16.50+tax/4-pack. 4x 4-packs per person.

Casual Drinks is a brand new 8.5% DIPA with 50% Citra and 50% El Dorado hops(and a boat of load them!). We played around with the malt profile with this one and it came out wild. It's super bright, hazzzeee, almost neon yellow. We'll post a picture of it tomorrow. Shooting for approx 195-210 cases. $16+tax/4-pack. 4x 4-packs per person.

    *LIMITS SUBJECT TO CHANGE*

It being a holiday week definitely makes it a bit of an unknown. People were lining up at noon last Tuesday but that likely had more to do with the Gose release. Tuesday before Thanksgiving was a bigger turnout than expected - line was as long at 6 as it was at 4.

That said, typically you can roll up at 7 and get everything without waiting in line. That should be the case this week. I'm personally hoping there are cans left on Thursday which would almost be assured if it weren't a holiday week.

So if i get in line at 3:30, when can I expect to be done getting cans? How about if i roll in at 4 sharp? And i I'm with someone who doesn't want cans, can they enter via a separate line and get beer on draft starting at 4?

Probable like 4:30, maybe 4:50 if you get there at 4. Yes, your friends can grab drafts and bring them to you while you wait in line.

Yeah, it really depends. If you have somewhere to be it's best to get there early and not chance being deeper in the line.

What have you found so far?

My highest rated Trillium is Congress St. at 4.71 while The Veil's highest rating from me is Daddy's Home at 4.76, but it was a DIPA (I tend to rate them higher). Nothing below 4.17 for either brewery. So, in my opinion, they are in the same conversation without much, if any separation. If you are enjoying beer from either place, consider yourself "living right"!

It's been a good minute since I've been there on a Thursday, but may have a chance to this week - what have "non-super raspberry gose" Thursdays been looking like?

im up in Northen VA visitin my mom for Christmas so i convinced her to take a ride down so i could check out The Veil for the first time. Traffic sucked getting there but I arrived at 4:45 had my mom jump in the can line while i grabbed a pour and got back in line with her and we were out by 545. Not bad! Wish i had more time to enjoy a few other beers

There are a lot I've missed so grain of salt, but ones I'll stock up on next time: We Ded Mon and Step Dad. CT seems to depend on the batch, last one held up great, one before I felt fell off sorta quick. Daddy's Home held up great but was a one time collab - (basically I'm thinking any Triples are a safe bet to let linger for a few weeks). The last batch of Dirt Nap held up great, the previous one from June, not so much. Major Rager got better over a couple weeks. blackivy - fantastic for the entire month I drank it and if anything got better.

Ones I feel fall off/change a lot quickly: Broz Night, Idont series, MMSS, CCTT. These are still great beers and not "bad" after a couple weeks by any means, I just prefer these all as fresh as possible. There are probably more.

It was the first time I ever got there and decided to leave. I got there about 4:10 and what made up my mind wasn't so much how long the line for cans was as how long the line for draft was. At least it calmed down for anyone who showed up later!
