I think that guy who is first comes up from NC to just about every release. Even if I lived local I would not have anywhere near that level of dedication. I'm going to drive 3+ hours to sit in line for 5+ hours and then drive back home 3+ hours? 1/2 your Tuesday is shot for one brewery but kudos to him. I'm sure he maxing out allotments each week and either muling some back for friends or trading off the bulk of it. I've said it before but if I'm traveling from out of town then I would make sure to hit a couple more stops while in town. But then again, maybe he is in the door at 4pm and out by 4:05 to check out other places before heading back. If that's your priority then you can't argue with it since we all have them and what is important to me may not be one of your top goals for a Tuesday.

Depends. I wonder if they canned a very small amount so they'd have enough to satisfy folks who actually visited the brewery. They did that before for the fruited gose at the Trillium collab drop so maybe they pulled something similar.

I'm sure there have been people who have driven long distances, Monkish collab with no limit on things like CCAA - yeah, I get it.

In general I don't get the obsession with the goses. I've had at least 1/2 of them and they're fine, but the level people go to doesn't make sense to me. Like how people are in line at 10:30 for this release, but last Dirt Nap/IdonteverEVER release I walked up at 4:15PM to zero line.

It depends on how much they keg really. There is definitely a chance it runs out since they're canning it, they sent at least a keg out last night in distribution. If people go crazy over it like Oreo Horns it could kick this week. It would be unusual though.

Thanks, this is helpful. I'm hoping it's still available on draft when I'm in town next week, but if it's not, so be it. Really excited about visiting the taproom.

Yeah, the Aloha intrigues me and I wish I could get some but their other goses are just good to me. I'm not jumping out the window just yet.

Only a handful of breweries out there.....that could throw a pile of Hawaiian Punch powder into a Gose, and have the beer masses clamoring for it...

Thank god for craft beer, now I can finally get drunk on something that tastes like fruit punch!

Been there done that. We did that in college with the Jungle Juice. Fill a 55 gallon trash can (new of course) with a bunch of vodka, water, ice, sugar and a readily available powdered mixture (Kool-Aid, Hawaiian Punch, Country Time Lemonade, etc). Pass out solo cups and have the guests dip in for a fill. When we got older the process was refined to have the vessel be one of those 5-gallon Gatorade jugs for more sanitary serving. The Veil is just refining the process even more.....

Last line update about 15 mins or so ago was about 50 which is in the neighborhood of the dumpster mural. Good thing is it looks like the power of an anticipated Tues release may be keeping the rain away a little longer. Showers now may not pop up until opening and may definitely be wet by 5pm/6pm for anyone showing up them. Guy going 4 hours strong sitting in line has it figured out afterall!

I love their beer, I spend too much on it, too much time talking about it etc. but I guess I'm just glad I don't have the FOMO most do on the Goses. Of course the first one was objectively bad, they refunded for it, but maybe that just put me off out of the gate? Last gose I grabbed in cans was Never Forever, almost on impulse, because I rolled up expecting no line, but really wanted Blackivy and Nice Relationship so stuck around - I wound up drinking 1 can but shared and traded the rest. I've had 2 of the last 3 goses on tap and I like them, but personally I liked the Berliner Triple Crossing just dropped better than any of the Veil goses I've had to this point.

More power to the guys in line though!

3pm update according to posts and it's at least down the sidewalk to Clay St and maybe having turned the corner. At least 100 deep is my guess.

And that rain system has passed short pump and is a few miles away from Veil. Better get those umbrellas, raincoats, etc if you brought them and are there now. if you are on the way then be sure to bring them.

Oh yeah. This is going to be interesting. Here is the closest traffic camera I could find and it's just a few block from Veil. Only 45 more minutes but hopefully they open earlier to help that out. Seems like something Veil would do although it won't help those farther back in line all that much.

The release is just getting in the tropical spirit - 3PM thunderstorm right on cue!

@gruffyboy Appears (according to posts) like your wife should not have that bad of a wait if she shows up by 5ish. Even though the line was long at first it reads like the later rain is keeping people away and the line is only barely out the lot now. Now with people getting off at 5 and it clearing up there could be a later afternoon rush of course at any time. Good luck to her!

Good news - she managed to get the full allotment; had to wait in line for an hour with a 1-year-old and her mum, but met some nice people and had a few tacos - thanks for all the advice here guys

Will need to wait for official post from The Veil for what's left today (THURSDAY) but anyone coming to RVA this weekend hoping to snag cans may be out of luck. Post on the BTV page a little over an hour before closing last night noted 25 cases each of IREALLYdontwanttoBU and Old Lions left. Expect any remaining cases to definitely sell out today if those numbers are accurate.

If you follow the unofficial official page you probably know there's a separate unofficial official BTV (Trades Only) page as well. Join up if you have not already and post those offers there. Be sure to state IP or if shipping is required.
