No 16oz cans tomorrow but as they hinted to last week.....
    _____________________________________________________
Tomorrow Tuesday April 24th at 4pm we will be releasing a very special beer exclusively on draft called Naissance.

Naissance is a turbid mashed beer boiled for 3hrs with 5 year old hops. Cooled overnight in our koelschip(located on our roof and inoculated with wild microflora). We then transferred the naturally cooled/inoculated wort into freshly dumped French oak red wine barrels from Napa. It was 100% spontaneously fermented with wild microflora for our koelschip and aged/conditioned in the barrels for 13 months. Inspired by the traditional production of Belgian lambic. Naissance is the first 100% spontaneously fermented ale and the first beer Matt(our head brewer) ever brewed here at The Veil. We are pleased to share this very important beer to us.

Stay tuned for more info regarding draft and to-go beer available tomorrow when we open at 4pm.

We will have limited crowlers of
    - Never Never Forever Forever
    - Sleeping Forever
    - whiteferrari
    - Crucial Crucial Aunt Aunt
    - #ladyBrozNightOut
    - Unique Friendshipz
    - Crucial Crucial Taunt Taunt

They had a considerable amount of cans left going into Sunday like I thought they might. I am a bit surprised they're doing the crowlers given the recent draft shortages. I guess they must have a lot more leftover than they expected after Sunday.

I had Naissance on draft in DC on saturday, I thought it was a really good first attempt at spontaneous fermentation for them. If they continuously improve on that, they could have something really special. That said, remember that this is their first one, so don't expect a Cantillon-level beer at this point. Its got a nice gueze-y feel to it, but I tasted a little butter and its a little unrefined, as you would expect from a single-source unblended beer.

    More surprises for today's release.

In addition to our big crowler release/release of Naissance(13 month spontaneously fermented lambic-inspired ale), we will be tapping these two very special beers.

    - First is the last 2016 Sleeping Forever keg in existence.

    - We'll also be tapping a pin(cask) of Double Vanilla Sleeping Forever. We took our Vanilla Sleeping Forever and conditioned it on top of a bunch more whole Vanilla beans. There is less than 5.5 gallons of each of these beers. They will most likely be gone within the first hour or two after opening at 4pm, so make sure you come check these out.

We will be releasing approx 600(give or take a few) crowlers today when we open at 4pm. 4x crowlers per person.

More details on limits/approx quantities/pricing and more coming soon. Stay tuned!

It's technically their second spontaneous beer to be released. Their "Jeune" 6 month spontaneous was released after Forever Summer back in August.

I'd like to get a crowler of SF, transfer it to a glass grunt and seal it with some vanilla beans. I think it would be worth $14 to see if that could come close to the actual SF Vanilla.

To fill this many crowlers I'm wondering if they drastically under sold draft during the anniversary party. I know I didn't buy any extra tickets nor did the 5 or so people I was hanging out with. I actually had someone come to me and give me their punches of BASF and SF which I thanked them mightly for.

I am curious about it too. Given how they've had a shortage lately and how much more they could make by selling these same amounts on draft, it seems odd to me they'd make this many crowlers vs. canning more or leaving kegs for draft (especially the ones that would hold up).

For instance, those 150 NNFF crowlers alone would cover almost 90% of the 900 pours allocated on Saturday. Maybe they just figured better safe than sorry.

And NNFF would sell on draft all week and especially this coming weekend when it's suppose to be hot AF.

And they still have visitors coming from out of town for the race this weekend that would buy draft pours......not sure how much crossover there is between race fans and craft beer but sure know I enjoy them both. Just hoping some good stuff remains on tap by end of the week.

It's anecdotal but while we were checking in, easily 5-6 people asked us if we wanted what what left of their unpunched pour tickets. In my group of six, we had 1-2 left over punches as well. Given that they guaranteed they would not run out of beer, it seems they really overestimated.

Same thing. My friend I went with didn't even want all of his so I got a couple extra myself (they didn't go to waste in my case). I get them doing the crowlers of the DIPAs for sure, but wouldn't they make more if they had held on to the NNFF and SF kegs unless they're really that strapped for space?

Maybe since they're doing it as a favor to their customers.

Esoteric does a really great job with their list, the last three times I've been there they have had something on tap from the Veil (as well as other strong offerings).
