I hit the opposite jackpot with chicken beer haha

Thanks man, yeah I'm pumped it's whiteferrari - that is a favorite (top 5 for me). And honestly Fried Chicken doesn't sound 1/2 bad seeing the description. Glad I can try it before I buy it tho!

For those looking for the release details:
whiteferrari is our most elegant DIPA with one of our favorite can designs ever. Clocking in at 8%, this luxuriously soft DIPA is hopped intensely with 50/50 Citra and Galaxy(and a ton of it!). We used the freshest crop available of each hop to give this DIPA the most expressive hop character possible. Shooting for approx 190-215 cases. $16+tax/4-pack. 3x 4-packs per person. *LIMITS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE*

Fried Fried Chicken Chicken is our latest collabo with our good friendzEvil Twin Brewing. Clocking in at 8%, FFCC is a DDH Old Country DIPA hopped v heavily with Citra, Simcoe, and Enigma. The idea came to us after eating a significant amount of fried chicken at various establishments in our beautiful city of Richmond. We actually put a VERY small amount of Fried Chicken in one of two of the mashes(less than .4% of the total weight of the mash contents). [IMG] It doesn't even remotely taste like chicken. If you think it does, you might want to go to the doctor bucko! We are super super pumped how this one turned out. Shoot for approx 215-240 cases. $18.50+tax/4-pack. 3x 4-packs per person. *LIMITS SUBJECT TO CHANGE*

Goosebumpz is a new DIPA for y'all. Clocking in at 8% and hopped intensely with Mosaic, El Dorado, and Amarillo. This is one of the good ones! Shooting for approx 195-220 cases. $16+tax/4-pack. 3x 4-packs per person. *LIMITS SUBJECT TO CHANGE*

And apparently honey: Whoa! We aged hundreds of gallons of Organic Brazilian Wildflower Honey in bourbon barrels for 8 months. The result is a decadent, vanilla, bourbony honey that is great for baking, toast, charcuterie boards, tea, cocktails, or whatever your lil' heart desires. *THIS IS NOT BEER. THIS IS ACTUAL HONEY WE AGED IN BOURBON BARRELS* Approx 100x cases(12x bottles per case) available. $25+tax per 500ml swing top bottle. 1x case/12x bottles per person. *LIMITS SUBJECT TO CHANGE*

Today's (7/26) cans remaining. Between 560-585 total cases of beer and 50 cases (600 bottles) of honey sold yesterday. Pretty impressed they moved that much honey. I'm not into the stuff but I guess more people than I thought flip over it.

Gotta say, I was primed to not like FFCC as obviously ^^ but to me it was like Dirt Nap-lite. I know the hops are almost completely different but that's how it came across so I was not taken aback like I expected to be.

I was intrigued by the honey but at $25/bottle I passed.

Side note - can anyone think of another place that can sell $15,000 of honey in a day?

It was incredible to see people on FB posting pictures of the full case of honey they bought. I would bet most of those people haven't bought more than a pint of honey in the last 5 years, now all of the sudden they need $300 worth.

The honey was intriguing, I probably would have caved and bought a bottle or two. The chicken beer was embrassing and commenting you can't taste it only confirmed it was a gimmick. Donate that chicken to the homeless instead of wasting it in a mash. Hopefully they realized they don't need these gimmicks and keep making great beer.

If you are local to any of these upcoming festivals and have yet to try Veil they are planned to be pouring. (beers listed so far per festival's website)

7/29 - Culmination Beer Festival - Anchorage, AK (whiteferrari, NeverGonnagetit, BBA SF)
7/29 - Midwest Belgian Beer Fest - St. Louis, MO (whiteferrari)
8/12 - Forever Summer Beer Fest - Richmond, Va
8/24 - BXL Beer Fest - Brussels, Belgium
8/29 - Tap Takeover TBA - Manchester, UK
9/22-9/23 - Mikkeller Beer Celebration - Boston, MA

I agree this was ridiculous too. Not the beer itself but the name they chose and pretty much admitting it was a gimmick (indirectly) on their post about the beer not remotely tasting like chicken and if anyone thinks so they are crazy. And why choose CFA when they said the idea came about after eating at various chicken establishments in Richmond. Why not choose a local mom & pop chicken spot (cough..cough..Lee's). It would have drummed up a good amount of business for them I'm sure with patrons grabbing a 4pk of the hype then heading over. Heck, I don't know if they have a food cart/truck/etc but even invite them to cater the event or set up some station for people to buy their food even though I know Tuesday's are almost exclusively reserved for Intergalactic Taco. The people who do say they pick up the chicken / breading flavors are the one who fell into the trap. The psychology behind naming the beer that alone will get people thinking they do taste something there when in fact there's not even a remote chance they actually do.

This is pretty much exactly what I was thinking - I honestly couldn't think of a retail location that sells that much honey in a day. I've never seen people bragging about "check out this artisanal honey I'm using in my cocktail." Apparently it's a thing.

I agree with this 100%. I've had a couple now - get absolutely zero of anything even close to fried chicken. I am waiting for the "... but my palate's just that sensitive bro" comments to keep defending it. It was gimmicky af, and I think there's a good chance they knew it could backfire so they paired the release with something people wanted (WF). It's a fine line for me between a decent beer because of the gimmick (oreo horns) or a good beer despite the gimmick (ffcc).

Future Hypothetical Girlfriend (DEBUT) is a new DIPA from us hopped excessively 50/50 with one of favorite hops Citra and the citrus forward Lemondrop. Clocking in at 8%, this vibrant piece of sunshine is so nice you can take her home to your mom.
Shooting for approx 195-220 cases. $16+tax/4-pack. 6x 4-packs per person.

Dusty Roadz is a 5.2% heavily hopped/dry-hopped pale ale with a ton of Citra Lupulin Powder and the freshest Nelson we could find. We love this one. If low abv hoppy crushers are your jam, make sure to grab this one.
Dusty Roadz is a special beer made for a special dude. One of our Co-founders Dustin Durrance kept telling our Head Brewer Matt that he wanted to see us brew a pale ale. Matt kept telling Dustin "nah". Then one day, Matt gave in to Dustin and said "yah"! This is the only "pale ale" we intend on making (don't quote us on that tho)
    Shooting for approx 215-240 cases. $14+tax/4-pack. 1x case/6x 4-packs per person limit.

Dirt Nap is our 8.8% DIPA hopped with Citra, Mosaic, Galaxy, and Nelson. This batch is just as awesome as the last batch, if not better! Y'all Dirt Nap heads are going to dig this one. Shooting for approx 185-205 cases. $16.50+tax/4-pack. 3x 4-packs per person limit.

Driving down to NC from philly tomorrow. Probably gonna get to Veil around 5pm or so. I've never been before and based on what I have read in this thread, I should still be in good shape to get a full allotment. Does that sound right? Or do you all think these beers will bring bigger crowds than normal? Thanks!

I think you should be ok. Definitely on Dusty and Dirst Nap. A lot of people may be maxing out on Girlfriend since it's new and depending on the turnout and how it is that could go quick but still at the low end of 195 cases you are likely fine. If limits stay the same that could be a draw since one can leave with 2 1/2 cases maxed out.

Limits did not change any from the preliminary estimates above. Oddly, Veil did not provide final case counts with the update earlier today. I don't think they have ever done that before (not provided final counts or range). And that honey is slow dripping. 2 case limit now.

if you are not on the BTV page or have been focused on driving instead of following line updates, you should be more than fine today on arriving around 5 and probably won't have much of a line like some other weeks. Posts did not mentioned the line leaving the parking lot until probably 30 mins ago.
