I think Dovetail makes much better beer, but Metropolitan is a much cooler place to visit - especially with children in tow.

If it’s going to be an extended period of time, I’d go Metro first.

It's a gorgeous location, no doubt, though I think Dovetail's environs are more than serviceable for what they're going for. Metropolitan's taproom is probably the most visually impressive in the city, though (besides getting back there, which has been in varying levels of chaos all the times I have been).

Still, I ultimately don't care about visuals. It's all about the beer when I go to a brewery; I don't care if a brewery is in a truck stop men's bathroom if the beer is great. Visuals/vibe are a cherry-on-top sort of thing for me.

It isn’t spring anymore! Should we update for Autumn?

I’d also recommend a “look out for these gypsy brewers in bottle shops” section to call out Saint Errant and Hop Butcher.

yes - maybe update it to Autumn/Winter 2018?

Also, I'd propose any changes or edits to the main post be proposed here - hash that out first, then the new thread can be posted. What say you @lloydboss?

Yea, Autumn/Winter and Spring/Summer seems a good approach.

I really was thinking about this thread the other day & possibly just making it an annual thread instead of seasonal, where the next update woudl be for 2019 in January.

What do you guys think, twice a year seasonal vs. annual?

My vote is twice a year seasonal. Could even just copy the initial post from the 1st one into the 2nd one without making a single change if necessary. Just keeps the thread conversation into 6 month intervals which might make it easier for people to search through when coming to the area.

I also vote for doing it twice a year. It allows us to make any needed updates in the middle.

Does the Goose Island Fulton taproom have vintage and/or variant bottles everyday?

Kind of. Fulton & Wood restocks from their cellar, usually once a week (on Wednesday or Thursday). Unclear if they replenish now. But they usually have a bunch of stuff available each week for on-site consumption - prop 14, vanilla, king Henry ($100); and vintage BCS / BCS coffee.

For a while, they had regal to go ($50).

Occasionally they tap one-off kegs (e.g. cuvee of darkness)

The Goose Taproom also has a BCS of some sort on draft with pretty good consistency in the winter months.
