Everyone knows the difference between a Munich Dunkel and a Dunkelweizen, right?

@ATL6245 -- your O.P. was in search of Munich Dunkel, correct?

I remember someone saying a local dunkel just didn’t had as much flavor as erdingers dunkel

I bit my tongue, or fingers…

If you find yourself in UT, Strap Tank brewery has a great Dunkel- the Besser Bier Dunkel that is on tap most year round in their Lehi, UT location.

Don't see it in their BA listings, you should add it.

    And your link is broken.

I agree that it has more black coffee flavor than any Bavarian Dunkel I've tried. As @steveh noted, the origins of the brewer are outside of Bavaria.

B United brings it in. You might have seen it at OEC.

Good catch buddy. I'm overdue for a trip back there. When I head back I'll let you know in case there's anything you want

I emailed b United about finding more dunkel, turns out it was down the street. When I went he said they had sold out but he’d probably order more.

I also asked b United about the plank fest. He said the following:

I love when places answer questions and they did it within hours, very glad I reach out.

A newish local Munich Dunkel Lager in my parts.

Equal Parts Neo-Noir. Reviewed over at the most recent NBW thread. This is just excellent. One of the better American made examples of the style I can remember having, and seems to hit all the style points dead on. With just a wonderful and nuance malt character. Hope this sticks around and I can find more of this easily.

Yes, Equal Parts Brewing, Neo-Noir is the name. They can have some odd ball names that can be in the wacky beer name thread started by Todd, but this is a relatively restrained one for them

Playing off the cinematic term fits for me.

Yeah, they do the movie reference a lot as well. One of their IPA's is just the date the Terminator went back in time, took me a while to realize what that was ha.

I wondered about the different packaging for Tucher Fest. I bought a 4 pack at Binnys in Champaign last weekend. It had the plastic top and the can code is L 114710. 08:36/02. The next day I saw this at the local Hyvee in the cardboard package so I bought it. Can code is L211910. 10:32/01.

I could not figure out the date and was so happy to find it I just bought it. Is the Binnys possible last years?

I also bought some Tucher Dunkel Weiss at Binnys. Plastic packaging. Had one of those and it tasted fine. I have not tried the fest yet.
