We all know the cheap beers out there and I'm sure some of them hold a special place in our hearts. A late college night with warm Keystone light, or digging through your grandfather's fridge and trying a Steel Reverse or Red Dog. But every once and awhile we come across a beer that is just hands down, even laughably, the worst beer that has touched our lips.

I was at a friends college party a few years back. There were the standard, Miller and Buds kicking around but I came across a beer that is to this date, the worst beer I've ever had. 'Beer 30' I tried it just for a kick but it tasted like someone brewed Iodine with a rusty nail in it and probably threw a drop of bleach in there just to be safe. http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=beer 30 I think #2 sums it up.

So I'm wondering what is the worst beer you have ever had, the rarer and harder to find the better!

Minhas Name Tag Lager and Tin Roof Watermelon Wheat are the first 2 that come to mind.

I kid you not when I say this, but Bourbon County Barleywine is on the short list with it's flat coca-cola poured through a bar basin strain flavor

As far as craft brews go, Green Flash Friendship Brew/St. Feuillien is awful!!! I couldn't believe how nasty it was. Like someone poured cough syrup into an already bad beer. 2 sips (the 2nd just to confirm how truly repulsive it was), and then down the drain. Surprising given what a big fan I am of most of their other offerings (huge fan of the Palate Wrecker and Green Bullet).

Shipyard Pumpkin Head is the lowest rated beer I have done outside of the mass stuff and some one offs from local breweries. This beer immediately came to mind and my reviews confirm my suspicions. That beer is pretty horrible.it:

Edit: Well since you asked for rare, the Brown ale by Hilton Head Brewing Company is probably THE worst. All of their beers are nasty.

A few years ago, I bought a Saranac winter sample case. I could not finish a single beer of the lot. Diacetyl galore.

That being said- I understand that they have gotten better and I am willing to give them another chance

This. So hard. Also every single gluten free "beer."

Now we get to watch "Latest Drainpour" v 2.0 where we compete to see who can say they hate the most beloved beers.

Do home brews count? I once had a home brewed stout that tasted like it was half lemon juice. I'm pretty sure they weren't shooting for a Tart of Darkness clone, either.

Heineken Light (slightly off-flavored seltzer), Stella (totally skunked the only time I had it), and Port City's Tidings (like a tripel with a shot of vodka dropped in it)

Desperados. I wanted to try all the unique French beers (while in France) and this one I regretted immediately. After I ordered it, I found out it was the french version of Corona WITH a tequila flavoring. It was awful. Awful. This is the epitome of a drain pour.

Dream Weaver by Troegs. I love every other beer I've had from them, but the extreme bubblegum wheat flavor almost made me gag!
