Yeah, those unique beer statistics are the ones I found the most interesting. Several years ago I used to be in the "try everything Trillium produced camp" but had to cut that habit out for more than several reasons. But now someone (Todd?) is betting that OH will brew a beer a day for 2020? Amazing! I'd love to know what BA'er could keep up with that?! As for distro...they don't need to!! We still don't even get OH in Boston, and I was in NYC a couple month ago and only saw it on tap in one bar, once! So good luck with that!!

I think it's more small tweaks to larger batches. Looking at the names, such as: "All _______ Everything", "Citra + ____", "Simcoe + _____", "Double ______ Daydream", "Hop Showers w/ ______", "Mmm... Fruit Dream (____)", etc. etc..

You could supplement most any hop variety into the blanks above and have a different Other Half beer, with the naming implying the same base prior to hop selection and/or use of double-dry hopping.

Which one are you using? I use picresize one my computer and it take around 90 seconds - but I have to forward the pic from my phone so that's an added complexity...anything to make it easier.

It's called Photo Editor. I'm on Android, but I believe they also have an iPhone version.

I don't think their beer makes it as far as you, but KC Bier Company makes a Dunkel and a Hefeweizen as two of their flagship beers. Just this year they hit 'regional brewery' status due to their total production volume. I'd keep an eye out for them, and pending your interest in trading, I'm sure you could set something up easily due to the availability of the beer.

have you heard anything about them maybe moving eastward with their distribution now that their capacity is increasing? Would love to see them show up in St. Louis.

I had OH Green Diamonds 6-8 months before they canned anything. Before OH was a name to be known in the craft world. It was amazing and my first thoughts were Alpine Nelson or Alchemist Heady Topper but better. I was in Manhattan for one night and was going to hit 3-4 pubs. I ended up hitting 3. Had 4 pours of Green Diamond. I should if stayed at Fools Gold instead of bar hopping. 8 months later Monkish released their first IPA (hazy) collab with OH on April 1st. The rest is history. Monkish is all over the place now. But I still like OH more. And I’m only 20 minutes from Monkish. Bring some IH to SoCal.

Damn! I honestly have never had a Monkish beer! Plenty of collabs but never a straight Monkish; just a matter of time!

I would love to say, "yes!" But I haven't heard. I know they've been very consistent on providing for the KC Metro area and then distributing out from there.

That said, let me put a message out. I may be able to get you an answer.

EDIT: Message posted. We'll see if they have any updates.

Nice article. I too am patiently waiting for the Lager Revolution. Fingers crossed for 2020 to be the year.

Got a response from KC Bier, @FBarber . They said they may expand into a "few small territories in Missouri". No word on expansion outside of the state (sounds unlikely).

I'm not sure this clears up much for you, but it sounds like there may be more KC Bier available in at least the central portion of the state. I am unaware of how far out their current distribution reaches to comment on where it could expand.

I just went on my profile and entered my age so make this a 1/100% of a bump up in the 45-54 age range! :-)
Thanks Todd for sharing the age demographic stats. I still have a suspicion that most of the forum conversationalists trend older and the WBAYDN/New Beer Sunday posters and trader users may trend younger but that is just a theory on my part.

Save yourself some disappointment and skip 450 North, you aren't missing anything unless you like overly sweet, sugar water sours. Their IPAs are mediocre at best and the stouts I've tried have all been drain pours.

Update: 7,562 of the new IPAs added in 2019 were tagged as one-off releases. That’s 35 percent of the IPAs, 36.6 percent of the one-offs, and 11.5 percent of all new beers.

The above has been added to the article.

I don't have too much trouble with alot of one-offs, but if a brewery makes a really good one and gets alot of positive feedback, they need to mark it for repeat brewing and/or become more of a regular option. Just like cooking dinners for the family.....try out new recipes frequently and if everyone likes it, add it to a more regular dinner serving option. Scrap the ones that get negative feedback and/or make adjustments.

Hahaha, nah you’re cool. I’m not in the “younger” range either that I was referencing.

Older guys like lagers...which is why we’re cool.
