Them Bastards!

I'm a big fan of the Oaked version. Definitely my favorite of the Bastards

 

My favorite is definitely Lukcy Basartd. It's like a cross between an IPA and a barleywine with a dash of vanilla.

Say, if we're talking about bastards shouldn't we also consider Founders Dirty Bastard and Backwoods Bastard?

 

My vote is for Double Bastard.

 

I like the oaked version but I still think Arrogant Bastard is better by itself.

 

I can agree that oaked bastard was probably my favorite of the bunch. Don't get me wrong though, the double was amazing but not just alcohol strong but flavor strong. The flavors were so concentrated! Letting one sit to see if it ever evens out. The lucky was really good but the oaked was just better; especially for the price.

Triple Bastard anyone? Would probably kill me. lol

 

I love the Bastards too. I haven't cracked open a Lukcy Basartd yet, but am looking forward to it. I can't say that one of the Bastards is clearly my favorite so far. I really like them all a lot.

 

Fresh Double Bastard is too hot but let it age for a couple of years or more and wow!

 

Old Howling Bastard from Blue Point is good too. Sipping on one now. Just finished a Double Bastard, we have both on tap. Dirty Bastard is in the cooler waiting to go on. Don't know how we managed that.

 

I had AB a couple of years back, and having convinced myself that despite the label I was indeed worthy I basically forgot about it at that point and went on to other things. Never had Oaked or Double. When I saw Lukcy announced this year I thought it sounded good and very much enjoyed the bottle I had. I've got DB on deck for later tonight and we'll see how I do with that one.

 

Oh man. Crack the Lukcy Bastard! It is my favorite. I had a bottle last night for the first time. Aroma, flavor, complexity...just great.

 

how about the founders bastards dirty and backwoods

 

Stone has more bastards than an nfl player. But none come close to founders backwoods.

 

Backwoods Bastard makes my cheeks and heart warm and happy.

 

Funny topic. I have been stock piling bastards for a night of bastards w my friends.

 

Oaked Bastard is my favorite.

I love them all though!!

 

Lukcy is everything I love about beer all rolled into one inexpensive 22oz bottle. Aggressive hops, a tasty malt finish, and that oh-so subtle linger of vanilla in the middle. Such a beautiful blend.

A few weeks ago I did a side by side by side of 2010, 2011, and 2012 all wonderful, but this beer ages very well. All are good, but Double is spectacular with some time on it. If all I could drink for the rest of my life was these 4 beers, I would live a very happy life.
