It was an Anniversary version on tap at the brewery. I was lucky enough to get 1 each of the 2 new bottles versions but have not opened yet.

Double Shots ABV has crept up over the years and is around 9.6% now I think.

Woops. You're right. The standard is barrel aged in several barrels and the limited releases just use one barrel type.

Regular Sleeping Forever by Veil is by far the thickest non-BA stout I've had

I think it was the same recipe as EMJ just brewed at a different location/ different crew. So the same, but different.

Very true. As a Veil fanboy, I am mad at myself for not thinking of them. Their shit is legit ink.

High residual sugar definitely helps have a thick body, in more ways than one.
Mornin' Delight from TG is another thick stout.

I would agree. MD b2 was one of only two perfect scores I've given on this site (3,925 ratings).Exquisite.

Nothing bothers me more than a thin, watery stout.. I mean, look at my user name. I have pretty high standards for the style.

Black Tuesday is a god damn abomination.

Man, has to be either (non BA) Sump or Abraxas by Perennial for me. Second to those, Alvarado Street's Motor Oil 2 stout was just as thick as the name implied.
