Right, to be fair Even More Jesus isn't really thick either. It's super roasty but not thick.

I don't know if it's strictly the thickest, but it's got a creamy-velvety texture to it that is very special. Not sure I've had anything else quite like it. Glad I still have a few bottles left.

As many others have said, FIS and Ten Fidy are darn thick "shelf" stouts that one can easily pick up pretty much year round.
For some others, Hoppin Frog BORIS is motor oil thick, but the thickest stout I've ever had was Port Old Viscosity. That thing literally, not figuratively mind you, poured thicker than some oils I've seen. A damn good stout, you can almost chew it!

BCBS is pretty thin in the scheme of things, as are the jesus beers. Ten fidy is thick, but rusty nail is like drinking oatmeal.

Mornin' Delight b2 without a doubt. The beer was sticking to my teeth.

Its not clear certain people understand what is meant by "thick" here. It seems certain folks here are confusing thickness with darkness or roastiness.

To say BCBS is thin but Ten Fidy is thick leads me to believe you've never had either beer.

I've not had every single beer listed, though have had the majority. Sweet does not equal thick nor does roasty or opaque equal thick. But in lieu of published FGs, "glass-staining-est" is my best indicator of "thick" and you don't need to look farther than Zhukov and its variants.

In a way sweetness does equal thickness because that body is mostly due to residual sugars. BCBS is straight up syrupy, but not in a bad way. Dried beer around the glass rim is sticky like honey.

Sugar as measured by instruments other than your palate, sure. There have been thousands of words written on this very site about perceived vs. actual sweetness, just as there have been written about perceived vs. actual hoppiness.

(Also proteins. Anyway imo it's a different dimension.)

The Marshall Z will put BCBS to shame in the thickness dept. Enjoyable though.... well, that's subjective.

Would I be yelled at if I gave a shout-out to Sam Adams Triple Bock? Even giant clumps of sediment that take up 1/4 of the bottle aside, that's some dense liquid.

Thats funny, I was thinking you've never had rusty nail. Roastiness doesn't equate to thickness, I assure you I understand that. Everyone I have ever talked to about mouthfeel regarding rusty nail has agreed with me. I would never consider BCBS a thick beer, but maybe I will pull a 14 and revisit.

Not stout. I used my last 1/2 bottle years ago for steak marinade.
