some sort of app that made it easy to manage your beers would be great.

could send alerts to let you know what beers probably need to be rotated into the drinking section based on style of something.

Thanks for all the replys! I didn't expect this much of a response honestly. Keep them coming! More product/service related things would be great but I like hearing the other stuff too

I think that would be a cool app (if mentioned above, please disregard ;P).

If you're enjoying something, have the app suggest others that are similar and distributed in your area. Take it a step further and provide links to the breweries or nearby breweries to check out. Could be used by beer tourists or locals new to the area or beer landscape.

Maybe I'm not getting your sarcasm, but my beeradvocate app does that. Click nearby, map opens, click "more info" for each icon. It worked passably well on a work trip earlier this week.

Something that will bring beer temp down instantly instead of having to do the freezer method when you bring home a new, warm sixer /bomber

    No way in hell.

Breweries would have to print new labels for every single bottling run. They would have to forecast every bottling day far in advance (and because of the nature of production breweries; schedules change), and breweries like Stone would have to have their bottle decorator make bottles for each specific bottling date.

The equipment needed to date bottles is extremely expensive (most breweries can't afford it), and you suggest doing something hundreds of times more cost prohibitive. As is, breweries use a single barcode for each brand and print labels far in advance to attain price breaks.

Great idea, just not in the real world. Not today. As technology changes, maybe one day we'll see what you suggest. I'd love to see it, myself.

The OP made it sound like a genie came out of a bottle and granted me one beer wish. I agree with you on the real world details of execution.

I would like a set of beer goggles where the girl looks just as hot in the morning as she did the previous night.

Maybe its just me, but I don't think beer googles is a thing at all. If you go home with a 5, guess what? If the 5 showed up naked at your door step and you were sober you would do the same thing as if you were at a bar and had 12 beers. Stop making excuses.

I would love an app that could recommend other LIKE beers. Say I like a 100 IBU, 95+ BA rated beer that uses Columbus as bittering and at least some Nelson Sauvin. One could ask a beer store clerk, look at descriptors on the shelves that are printed out by the beer store, look at BA or RB #s to give some indication. Better yet, have all this tie into the places inventory that I am visiting. What good is a recommendation if its only sold 500 miles away? Some breweries do list generic malt and hop descriptions either on their can/bottle art, or online. If a barcode from a beer could show recommendations.... WOW! I'm not asking for an "identical" of copy cat beer, but some people do like similar styles

tl;dr There is a certain vagueness about beer products. With all food items, you have a general sense of what is in that product. Maybe if an app could cue up "key words" from hundreds of reviews, and people could search for what they want out of the beer to get a "ideal" match so to speak

For when I'm not interested in digging in the cellar, I have two kegerators. The problem is that my fiancee and I prefer to pick up certain seasonals in kegs rather than choose from the limited selection of what is out there all the time. I'd love to see a website of some sort that lists all the breweries that distribute to your area (determined by zip code or address), what they are putting into kegs, and what different keg sizes are/will be available. Its tedious calling the liquor store, asking if they can get a keg of this or a keg of that, waiting for them to call back, and then finding out that neither of those beers are available so I'll have to try again.
