I will be in Fairmomt and Charleston for work in the next couple weeks. Curious as to good bottle shops/bars/breweries to check out. Also, always down for a trade or two. Will be posting later in the ISO boards.

Fairmont resident here. Hit up Chestnut Brew Works in Morgantown for sure. Try Best Hoption, Halleck, and Shakedown. The Apothecary and Iron Horse Tavern are good bars in Morgantown. Charleston Brewing Co is your best bet for local beer in Charleston. I love their Citra Ob-session.

Don't forget Morgantown Brewing Company. They always have 8-10 pretty decent brews on tap.
Also Black Bear on pleasant st in Morgantown is a pretty cool place. Great food/atmosphere and some great taps!
Unfortunately Fairmont is basically a beer wasteland outside a few good taps smattering about the city.

I hope they have improved a lot. I hit Morgantown Brewing just over a year ago, and thought the beers were pretty bad. I was sad about that, because WVBC (previous owners) used to make somewhat decent beer.
BTW, I will be in Morgantown this weekend. I need to try Chestnut Brew Works.

What is in Fayetteville these days? I love that place. The New River Bridge is an amazing structure! The New River- oddly- is maybe one of the oldest rivers on earth. It flows south to north into the Ohio River region. It predates the Appalachian upheaval.

Meaghers Irish Pub in Bridgeport (near Fairmont has a very good selection of drafts & bottles. There is a little Bar & Grill right across from the Best Western in Bridgeport that has a fair selection of bottles & drafts. Charleston has Pies & Pints (next street over from BSB/CBC) and Black Sheep Burritos & Brews/Charleston Brewing Company (Located in a parking garage at the corner of Summer & Quarrier St.). Oh, there is one more Live on the Levee free concert this Friday(a couple of blocks from the 2 places along the river.). There is B&D Gastropub in Kanawha City (Next Exit past the capitol, from Charleston @ bottom of bridge, on Left.). New River is really cool! ziplines,rafting/kayaking/mountain biking. Bridge Brew Works Brewery & The original Pies & Pints in Fayetteville.

Morgantown brewing has improved, though the beer wasn't amazing. I would say they are back to the quality they used to have as WVBC or slightly better. Chestnut Brew Works was impressive. I was expecting a nano operation with many off flavors. All their beers were clean and delicious. The Pale Ale was so similar to Zombie Dust, and I almost prefer it over the FFF beer. I bought 2 growlers and would put them on the list of must hit places in WV.
