But, I am setting up my freezer right now, and I got to the point of hooking up the faucet to the shank. Is there supposed to be a washer or gasket in there anywhere or do those teeth like things just seal everything up?

There's no gasket between faucet and shank.

Thanks, I actually assembled it and tried it out a few mins ago. Leak free, though the accuflex line was a pain to get on the tailpiece and disconnect.

Try heating the hose up a bit next time. Running some hot water over it for a while or hitting it with a hair dryer for a bit will make it more flexible - makes for easier initial connections.

I actually used boiling water, still pretty tough. Others recommend heat guns.

Hmmmm... My faucets all have a rubber washer between the faucet and the shank. It's flat and it sits in a recess on the faucet, so maybe you're just not seeing it. And I can say from experience that it leaks like a sieve without it in place.

...and I use boiling water on the line.

Yeah, I have that washer. I didn't see that one at first, but thought there would be something more substantial. No leaks yet (except for an empty CO2 tank, which I think I found the leak to)
