My two year-old MacBook Pro keeps choking on this website. It doesn't seem to happen anywhere else, just here. Is it just the ads? If I ignore the message long enough, sometimes Safari will simply shrug its virtual shoulders and toss me off.

It’s been crashing my computer a lot lately too.

But that computer is using Chrome and Windows 10.

    Nice.

The examples given didn't match my options entirely (no 'details' icon) so I had to disable power saver altogether, rather than just for this page. I guess I'll just wait and see if that becomes a problem down the road.

    Thanks!

Hope it works, I have mine disabled as well and zero issues loading this site or others. :beers:

As someone that does not see ads (Premium Member), I have not encountered this issue so I'm guessing it is related to ad serving.

as @dbrauneis suggests, it's probably the ad sever. So it probably won't go away until you break that relationship: do premium member, live with it, etc. Remember to keep charger near by and it won't matter much. As for your tools, learning the hand drawing and pens paid off but you weren't that good for a while. Now you own one of the most powerful graphical tool kits ever at your finger tips,

Tourist: Excuse me, how do I get to Carneige Hall from here?

New Yorker, rushing on by: Practice!

I use Windows 10 on Chrome on a laptop that is 7-8 years old and I have no issues. (I'm usually plugged in.) I'm also a Premium member and it has been great to not have ads bugging me during my BA experience. It's well worth $20 per year, plus there are a few other site benefits that can come in handy.

Nope. I disabled it last night, got the message again this morning and Safari booted me off (although it then brought me right back again).

Not meant to be a plug but rather trying to isolate the issue for the user (to the ad serving portion of the site - I had seen messages similar to that before I was a Premium Member).

And there was the guy who complained about getting **** site ads here. Watching these targeted ads is a hoot and very instructive. I trust the internet like I trust a copperhead.

Sorry, I used the term "crashing my computer". It's never crashed my computer.

My computer will be audibly working harder, and the site will slow. Then if I try to reply in a thread, it starts slowing down to the point I can barely type, then the page just stops and I get that "Aw, snap!" pop-up.

I then have to go back and open up the site again. Good thing is, it saves my reply.

This happened a lot in that recent Trillium thread. I'm not sure if it was simply because of how big the thread was.

Maybe try clearing browser cache. Minor incovenience may fix.

I emptied my cache yesterday and it hasn't helped. I'm getting the 'significant memory' message every time I open a page on this site now.

The glass-half-full side is that I have to type more quickly and concisely to get my reply posted before Safari closes the page (my typing hasn't been saved). So there's that.

I have to say that it runs smooth as silk for me. No issues ever. But I am also a premium member....
