I'm getting the onion flavor in the Stone Ruination 10th anniversary beer. Think they dry hopped it with Citra so could be coming through with that.

Well that sucks if theres no onion taste in this years devil dancer. That was the only thing that made this beer good.

Not at all! This was the dankest beer I ever had last year, this year nothing. I had a Hoptimum after a DD and the Hoptimum tasted more like weed, and it usually doesnt taste like that to me. I guess this is more motivation to start homebrewing. Until then, I guess we have Deviant Dales and Green Flash Imperial, ooh and Bell's Oracle soon...

Drinking one right now, no onion but lots of bitterness

I think this is a beer that's a hell of a lot better on draft - it has a nice balance and a creamy finish that I can't find in any other IPA.

But in the bottle, even though it's not an onion bomb like it's been in past years, this year's batch still has too much onion going on, and doesn't replicate the experience of having the beer on draft whatsoever. It's a shame, because it's a lovely beer on draft, but I won't be making the mistake of buying it in bottles again.

I did not have last year's but I will say that even with all the onion bomb rumors I got no hint of it. 2012 Devil Dancer is amazing, if there is anyone who doesn't want it; I will take it off your hands

No onion this time around. Sipping one right now. It's extremely well-balanced, and isn't nearly as boozy as past releases.

I had it in the bottle for the first time recently, no onion flavor per se detected in mine, however, it is a little boozy/bitter, but good nonetheless. I'm hoping a little time will balance it out.

Do you know Double Trouble 2013's hop profile? I think it's my least favorite DIPA, as I just find it muddled, abrasive, and super pine forward (especially too much in the taste).

And I thought it was a damn booze and malt bomb.:grinning:
