Found a few bottles of 2008 Thomas Hardy's Ale around, i've heard that the Eldridge Pope version is substantially better. I have had a bottle of 2006 Thomas Hardy's and I thought it was fantastic but is it worth seeking out the Eldridge Pope version or just cellaring the 2008 for a few years?

Eldridge Pope's seem to be rarer than hens' teeth these days and seeking them out is the 13th labour of Hercules.
I've had late editions of EP and early editions of OH. Never the twain shall meet but the OHs are darn good. Question is, will they hold up as well as the the EPs have with the same number of years under their belts?

That's what i'm wondering. Thinking i'll still just grab a few bottles of the 2008, they're around $12 here. I'll report back in 5-25 years

Yep, the oldest OH Thomas Hardy's are only 11 calender years old. I've had Eldridge Pope ones from the 70's(The 1968 has always alluded me) and they have all being unreally fantastic. Your thinking aboot grabbing a few bottles of the 2008? My kind of thinking. The price is, imho, very reasonable.

I've got a 99 Eldridge Pope in my safe. Ran into about 6 of them in the last year & 1/2. Drank 3, sold 2 and only one is left. As mentioned they were fantastic. I'm going to sit on the last one for a while.
